Dark Souls

Here's a question for the more veteraned of you.

Why do some classes start on different soul levels, and what are the benefits/downfalls of this?

You can think of it as kind of a difficult setting for the game but it's basically only there to encourage different play styles.
At the end of the day it does not matter what you pick you mold the character your own way once you start leveling.

At the end of the day there is no real benefit/downfall.
Sure starting with a armor set with a better durability and a sword that does decent damage (Warrior) is pretty cool but better starting stats and only a leather nappy is awesome if you want to have a bit of a level boost (Deprived). Like I said it boils down to different play style no more, no less. Its just different base platforms for what you want to reach. Or you can just grind a bit and reach it anyway with any class.

I remember back in the day when the Pyro craze was a thing and everyone was running around burning everything to ash. The Pyromancer was the thing to start with so that you could start burning things quicker. Then the stats on The Great Scythe was uncovered and everyone started with the Thief class for that extra Dex bonus for max damage. It was all just different play styles.

So why is Pyro the only class that starts on SL1 ?

wahahaha.... fair enough!

Just examining my Dark Souls Limited Edition, does it include the PTDE DLC? how can I find out?

Killed the wolf :(

Oh man!!! That's an awesome achievement. Yeah, not a fun thing to do if you following the story. PLEASE tell me you have the PrepareToDie edition with Artorias of the Abyss DLC?
(if so, things with Sif will get a lot more interesting, story wise (and will make you feel worse about killing him)).

Oooh.... watch out for the Dark Wraiths as well. Nice titanite farming from them! Make sure to have your humanity (in top left corner) above 1, maybe around 4 to increase drop rate.

Yeah I'll have to pop a few humanities but I'm running low. And tge ghosts aren't dropping any curses for me either and I only have 2 left

So I had no internet last night and didn't really feel like playing DS2 without a connection.... I was SO close to inserting DkS and starting it up.

Speaking of which, how goes everyone's Lordran travels?

Dark Souls

In a world of darkness
Given birth by fire
There was a chosen undead
That the cinder did desire

To leave the asylum
In the talons of a crow
To a new land of trouble
demons above and below

Set with a task so great
Not just any Hollow would do
The undead was chosen
The hero is you

The taurus of the Berg
The gargoyles on the tower
The first bell was rung
Within the same hour

Quelaag was next
A challenge of her own
Her fire melted flesh
Like a chisel to a stone

Blight Town was a mess
Purple moss was a must
But light prevailed
Quelaag was dust

A bonfire in the distance
Filled the heart and led the way
The souls of his enemies
Were his treasures, his pay

Bell number two
Was done, no more
But our Hollows adventure
Had greater foes in store

From the ascending of Sens Fortress
To the iron golem above
Nothing could stand in his way
Retribution was his love

Anor londo stood before him
A city lost and left alone
Ruled by 2 kings of Old
One Ornstegin, One Smough

This task was not easy
Required two souls not one
Crushed Humanity in his hands
Then the battle was won

Only four souls remained
To light the final door
From below the earth to above
There were enemies galore

Nitto in the Catacombs
The four kings in the Abyss
The sound of their cries
Was one not missed

Only two remained
One in the very depths of hell
There was no life around
No one to tell

The Bed of chaos laid there quiet
Waiting for the day
The Hallow would come
And have his say

Within a couple moments
The beast was finished
All the evil below
Was finally diminished

A dragon still remained
Seath In the archives
He was known as the scaleless
A Foe of great size

The last of the four
Who clenched the final flame
The dragon who turned on his own
The one that was to blame

His curse was mighty
His body strong
Our hero held his own
The battle went long

Until one was left standing
In the blood soaked room
The cries of the dragon
Would still loom

The lord himself
Gwyn of Cinder
Was all that remained
His presence still linger

The lord vessel awaited
The four souls of the fallen
Created a portal, to where
Our hero was callen

In the final chamber
Stood our hero and Gwyn
In a fight for the world
Something happened then

A clash of power
Pure death and life
A fight against odds
Life did strife

What was meant to be happened
Good did prevail
And our Hero was victorious
One we all do Hail

The Undead were at rest
The world lay calm
The darkness dispersed
Life forever in his palm
