Dealing with Cancer

Just read this thread now mh im seriously sorry please believe me when I say I know what you going through ... as I lost both my parents to cancer :(

I know I said I wouldn't bother here again but there are some peeps who I'd like to keep informed (you know who you are) ....

I don't want to get too excited just yet but from what I understand, the impact of the treatment won't be as harsh as we were worrying it would be and the second Oncologist is very very comfortable is saying that my Mom is an excellent candidate for totally beating this thing. I still have to hear every detail but just the fact that moms is relieved has me uber relieved.

Will post again when I have the whole picture.

MH!!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome news!!! I really hope and pray for the best for both you and Mom!!!! Please keep us updated!!!!

*hugs*

Glad to see things are looking up for you and your mom m8, i had a cancerous mass removed from my right ear about 10 or so years ago and when i first heard that word and it's connected to me i thought the worst.

I got it removed 2 days later and every year i go for a check-up to see if everything is still ok.

Have faith and prayers with you and your fam.

So, update time ......

As it stands, the treatment itself is over. Docs have said she responded better than they thought and everything looks ok. Will still be a couple follow ups I'm sure but that's nothing. Been a rough, rough time these last few weeks. She is skinny as all hell, burnt from the radiation and her mouth and tongue are toast, sigh. All I want now is a speedy recovery so that I can make her some awesome meals and fatten her up again, heh.

Anyway, I'll post again in a while with another update. Thanks still and again to all those wishing well and the words of support.

That is fantastic MH! I saw what radio and chemo therapy did to my mom and I know how hard it is. Great that she has responded well, and hopefully she has this thing beaten.

I'm gonna organise a belated Xmas too ....... she's very old school - the huge meal, the tree, the pressies, etc and we obviously skipped t all this year so the minute she can eat proper food again, it will be Xmas in this here household. Be like a double celebration kinda thing, corny as it sounds :D
