Despite Crysis 2 leak, Crytek still loves PC gamers

I am telling you now they leaked it on purpose. That is why they are not ranting about how pirates are killing the pc market.

Or they figured since its coming out on Xbox and PS3 also that those sales (on console) would completely obliterate the pc sales and that those who pirated it weren't going to buy it in the first place.

Found this while trolling the net

Two high profile games, Killzone 3 and Crysis 2 have both been leaked on torrent sites, this means that they are available to download and play for free (illegally of course), however i know Crysis 2 has it worse.
The reason Crysis 2 has it worse is because it is on the PC , this is very important because a lot of people on the PC platform pirate a lot of games (not all the PC Gamers, there are decent people) meanwhile Killzone 3 has been leaked on the PS3 so the 0.00001 percent of people who acually jailbroke their PS3 and haven’t been banned by Sony will be over the moon.
The PC version is available on some torrent sites but will soon spread to all torrent sites, this way it will get more exposure and people wont buy it when it actually releases.
The Moral of the story (if there is one) is support the people who worked hard and took time on the game , because without these fantastic developers trying to out do each other, Gaming would be nothing.

I have to agree with the above sentiment.

I really don't see why people must download a leaked game. It's just sad:(

I think I'll still wait for the original to come out for me to buy thanks ... I'm actually amped to play this :)

Hold on!

Is Crytek insinuating that gamers are to blame... surely someone from the company is to blame? Are you telling me that someone hacked Crysis and downloaded a near complete copy of the game? That will not count in their favour when I am considering buying a game from them.

Perhaps Crytek should stop their public ranting and rather focus on the security and integrity of their company. Yes, gamers did upload the file to torrent sites, which I do not promote, I would like to know how it landed on the Internet.

Then one can decide who is to blame.

Really doubt this is gonna have a negative effect on the sales of Crysis2, heck I predict the opposite. The thing is this is not some well rounded polished full release that's been leaked, but an dated beta.

That comes with technical problems and lots of hassle, something all PC gamers hate, everyone wants a fully working relatively bug free game straight out of the box. I think more than half would probably not even get the leaked beta to run and are just curious to see how it runs on their PC (if they can even get it to work). As for the people calling it bad console port based on the beta, well they just morons.

If it had been uploaded an no one downloaded it then I would agree with you. But I can bet you the file has been downloaded thousands upon thousands of times in which case gamers ARE to blame coz they are downloading it. If your logic is to be followed through it would suggest that it is the fault of gunsmiths that thousands of people are killed every year with guns, they did after all release it to the people.

Some minimum wage tester propably swiped a copy when nobody was looking and released it.

I hope the game does sell well on PC. I would hate for bad sales to be the final nail in the coffin for Cryteks future PC development.

I see what you mean. I am not trying to be illogical but looking at it from a business perspective they should just accept the fact that it was leaked and make sure it never happens again. I do not condone piracy.

You are right, users that download the file are to be blamed.
