Deus Ex: HR Collector's Edition

This is just a heads-up for my fellow MyGamers who are interested in the CE of Deus Ex (duh).

Kalahari.net (or .com, whatever mood they're in these days) has the PC version listed for R750.

I'm sure you recall talk of there only being 15 or so in the country. So I'm guessing that they don't exactly have a huge quota.

I've ordered one in the hopes of securing it locally (yay for no more international order!).

If you want it, needless to say GO GO GO GO GO!

Indeed, it's not really worth it but I'd like to give this one as much support as I can and I'm pretty much sold on Limited CE :D

No, I can definitely see why people would buy it, make no mistake. I just can't justify it for myself though as I'm not much of a CE type of guy. If I had some money to waste I probably would have bought this too :P

Dude I'll exclusively sell you a cardboard box for only R150. I'll even draw a smiley face on it....bargain. ;P

I get the supporting them angle though. Another angle would be to buy 2x std and give it to a friend that would no have bought it otherwise. Increases player base, profit for them, number of units sold plus you got a friend a nice gift. Better deal than an box imo. Each to his own though.
 
It's totally a epeen thing of: FU YOU i haz the ce you don't. I really wanted to go the augment route seeing that only the doll is the extra in the ce, but to my delight I've paid for the thing with take2 as I pre-orderd it. So now I'm just sticking with it...*

Oh, I completely get that too. But as Proph said, it's also about epeen and being one of a very few who get their hands on a one-of-a-kind edition of a game they love.

I still maintain that it's in no way worth it but this is one game I'm completely mad about, so I'm happy to go a little further to grab something more unique than just the augmented edition.

Yeah, I don't really have a lot of faith in many of our retailers any more, if I'm honest, so we'll see what happens :)
 
Doesn't the CE have that Adam Jensen Action Figure in? With that it more than just a box your getting.

Yeah, but the action figure is going to be made available to buy separately anyway, so it sort of defeats the point of it being "special" in any real way :(
 
I just realised that the PS3 CE is going to set me back about R980! :eek: If the action figure looks shit/cheap I'll probably get Augmented instead - that way I can afford Dead Island and Resistance 3 and not just one of them.

Action figure is supposedly very well-made and, obviously, not cheap :p
 
Yeah I've seen up-close images of it and it does look excellent, but you never know ... I do, however, rather like gaming action figures and Adam Jensen would make an awesome addition to my (very small) collection. I probably won't be able to resist it when I see it; the same thing happened when Assassin's Creed II came out: I pre-orderded the Black Edition, but a week or two before release I decided to go for white or normal edition instead so I can buy more games. Then I saw the Black Edition with my own eyes and had to have it. :p

Juggling money and rearranging my budget to fit in the most recent MUST HAVE collector's edition is the story of my life.

Fortunately after Deus Ex the only other MUST HAVE CE is Old Republic (which I've pre-ordered) and then I'm through until around March/April next year when Mass Effect 3's CE comes out.

I really wanted the Space Marine CE and I've been eyeballing the Skyrim CE after seeing that sexy statuette it has but... urgh... I can't justify it :/
 
You're lucky that you only have one more MUST HAVE CE on your list for now!

Just this year I still have Uncharted 3 CE, Skyrim CE (that Statue would look awesome on my desk :p), LoTR War in the North (if it comes to SA - that fucking quiver!), AC Revelations and if by some miracle there is a Saints Row 3 CE I MUST have that as well. The biggest problem is that most of these games are being released in November, some on the same day. I have no idea where I'm going to get the money to buy them all ... :(

hahaha! Wow, I feel sorry for your bank account already.

My immediate dilemma is that I'm also saving up for a Galaxy S2 when I upgrade in November. So my budget is painfully tight :(

Hope you get what you want :D I love CEs, there's just something grossly satisfying in being able to call one, "Mine!"
