Diablo 3 Beta - Feedback :}

I think, with regards to difficulty, you have to keep in mind that the beta consists of the first few quests on the lowest difficulty. A Difficulty which the devs have said will be "casual". Like Monk said, once u get a few people in Co-op it really starts to scale. I do hope that the difficulty starts ranking up as the story progresses since Nightmare is locked until you finish D3 on Normal as far as I can tell.

The beta is easy but the difficulty does ramp up when you play co-op which I found out the hard way when I had like 3 of those huge beast dudes plus like 30 other guys chasing after me while my buddy was off checking bookshelves or something. :) I'm pretty confident it's going to get hard.

@SnowWar dude seriously, please don't get mad but reading allot all the time to me is like grinding a chalkboard, I will pay you in cake to type a lot. :)

Hey now, that was a VERY interesting bookshelf I was checking out!

Well I died once while playing with my brother last night. Granted I wasn't focusing but as the only melee character I was the only one being pummeled. I didn't die again after that (more skills to deal with the mobs) even against elite groups.

I do expect things to get progressively harder as you advance through the game and death could become commonplace.

I have some very vivid memories of dying to mobs that discharge electricity in Diablo 2 on my Barbarian. :(

Oh yes, for sure. Those guys were (are) mean.

I'm sure the difficulty will go up as you progress, case in point Diablo 2. First part of Act1 was rather easy, then as you near the end of Act1 you start dying (died a lot on my very first play).

But the Beta still felt very easy, I never had to run away once, not even during co-op play. Then again, suppose I will be very unhappy once I do die for the first time.

Yeah, D2 also didn't really get hard until you hit the Act 1 Boss or the Cursed Tower Quest on /Players 8. Act II saw me die a great many times.

Witch Doctor Spot.

I must say out of all the Classes this is the one I have the least interest in playing. I prefer Direct Damage to all this running about.

Playing Witch Doctor this weekend with some mates co-op and in all honestly, the class is actually frustrating since a lot of it's abilities do damage over time, at least the low level skills. It left me feeling the class just does not keep up with other classes at a similar level. The amount of damage a barbarian or monk dishes out is ridiculously high compared to the Witch Doctor. half of the time I was running about snaring shit so my mate could rip it to shreds, not my idea of fun.

Yeah, I think it depends on your play style though. I know several people who say the WD is their Favourite class out of the lot. Mine has to be:
1: Barbarian
2: Monk
3: Demon Hunter

The Wizard has potential but Im in no rush to play through the game with one. Monk & Barbarian on the other hand... can not wait.

I agree, I will most likely roll with the Barbarian first then Monk for sure. Witch Doctor is not my cup of tea :)
There is something very satisfying about leaping into a group of skeletons and smashing them so hard their bones fly off the screen :D

Yeah! and then picking up loot and see bodies slowly raining down on the battlefield.

hmmmm so do we keep our characters after the beta when the game is released? also if we create a hardcore char, does the difficulty get harder?

the witch doctor is a spammer :D

Na everything will be wiped clean. Characters, achievements, everything... even that awesome bow I found last night :(

....Friend list. I noticed that after patch 18 I had to re-invite or re-accept all friend requests.

The Beta is a entirely separate game on B.Net, this is why the download is just 3gb and not 10 or 11 (Full version comes on 3 DVDs) this is also done so that hackers don't get access to the rest of the game by hacking the beta client. Makes you wonder about the starter edition though. Would suck getting some awesome stuff, upgrading to full and then loosing both your progress and loot.

Difficulty with a normal toon and a hc toon stays exactly the same. You just need to be way more careful with a HC toon, specially in the later difficulty modes

You also can't share items between normal & hc toons. I guess its to stop people playing, getting awesome items and then giving them to their HC toons.

Hardcore does not appeal to me in the slightest.

On Normal... maybe. But Imagine beating normal and then starting Nightmare or something only to die in like Act 1 or something. 30+ hours gone, all the loot u where carrying gone.
