Hey guys, so the closed beta for Diablo 3 has now officially started and a realease for D3 at the end of 2011 is looking more and more likely. What are your thoughts so far on this and what can you say about the beta? This can be for those who have played or for those who have only seen beta gameplay footage....

:D Cheers

I'd love to get feedback from locals playing on the closed beta, what the latency is like and if it gets better as they switch over to EU servers.

Hoping to get one soon myself :(

I think that it's bullshit when someone like me who has been playing wow consistently since the beginning of Pre-BC hasn't EVER gotten a single beta invite or anything to say thank you.

I played Pre-BC until late Ulduar-WOTLK on US servers and then switched to EU and have been playing there since. I have a total of 4 accounts connected to my Battle.net account (1 WOTLK + 1 TBC on US. The WOTLK acc still has all my vanilla character with their titles and gear etc. And then 1 Cata + 1 TBC on EU).

For the whole of WOTLK on US I kept the subscriptions for both my wow accounts active. And since moving to EU late ToC stages I cancelled my US accounts and have kept both my EU accounts subscriptions active.

Sorry for the rant, but I just don't see why Blizzard doesn't give someone like me a beta key because they know I'm a long term loyal customer. Each time a new expansion or a new game comes out I keep hoping that I will FINALLY be one of the lucky ones. Never happens.

And yes I do have my beta settings up-to-date each time.

. I have a total of 4 accounts connected to my Battle.net account (1 Cata + 1 TBC on EU and 1 WOTLK + 1 TBC on US).

Well, hope you get an invite, I myself am hoping to get into the Closed Beta, but at the same time I would like to wait for the final release. But again id love to have a look and see what D3 is like and give my feedback on the beta itself, so lets see what happens

i even changed my account to netherlands address , to try to get a better change, changed while back for recruit a friend in wow also.

Had one play through so far as a Monk and enjoyed every second. There was absolutely no latency what so ever and I can confirm my access is through the US as was the case with my Starcraft Beta.

Blizzard have this wonderful ability in making games so simple to pick up and easy to engage and yet soo soo addictive, the sound is also top notch and unbelievably nostalgic. The multiplayer is seemless, they have made it so easy to join friends and random groups. In my eyes this game is done and ready for launch.

Nice one! What connection are you running? Also, is there no noticeable lag when looting, using abilities etc?

This is really good news! Enjoy the beta and let us know of any changes, regarding lag or so.

So far absolutely no lag when doing anything in the game. My line is currently set to run at 3MB. Remember the looting is personalised so whatever drops is for you alone so tere will be no quickest to click fest. Going to probably run through the game tonight as a Demon Hunter.

Wouldn't that decrease your chances? There are much more people in the UK. When they do decide to start handing them out to SA there probably wont be that many of us and they decide to give Beta invites to our entire country :)
