Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Okay so I downloaded the Blizzard Downloader than Omega linked to and it's re-downloading about 50% of the files. Hopefully it works this time...

Side note: My order status is "Ready to Pack". :D

Now I am going to sit and study for Enviro Affairs and then after my exam tomorrow sprint to work to see if my copy arrived... if not take one work copy and reque... force them to replace it with mine copy when it arrives.
 
Hey, guys. A few months ago, I won the weekly Exclusives competition and asked for a copy of Diablo 3. I just wanted to say thanks to MyGaming and to the Exclusives staff for being so cool.
This guy from Exclusives called Cerys sent me an e-mail on Friday telling me my copy would arrive on Tuesday (Hey, I miss the midnight launch, but you cant argue with home-delivery). Cerys is a really cool guy and to get me hyped today has started sending me pictures of my D3 box with my name written on a yellow sticky-note. I'm bursting at the seems waiting for tomorrow!

I base this off years of comparing and experience. I played the beta on 384k and 4mb, lines out of the same exchange same ISP and there was 0 difference. (variation of maybe 1-2ms)

There are two reasons, one could be you have a different ISP/account type at home, might be something wrong with your line at your flat. OR, maybe WoW spiked over 30kb/s and you saw a minor difference. As monk mentioned, wow sometimes takes a lot of bandwith, add voice chat and maybe you get a spike.

So, I am 100% certian after talking to other people with 384 lines and myself playing on 384 as well as 4mb lines that there is no difference. I get 180ms in WoW on standard mweb uncapped. What do you get?

Ah, yes, that would make sense, but you have to remember; many ISPs employ different shaping on various speed packages. Some protocols get better priority on higher speed accounts.

Man today is dragging. Got tons of work to do so it's still going to be a busy afternoon before going to the midnight launch tonight. I can't wait though. Want to install it tonight and then tomorrow morning I can start enjoying Diablo III during my days off work.

It would be interesting to see how many people are going to midnight launches tonight and how many people are getting it delivered and how many people will buy it tomorrow or a later date. Someone make a poll please...

OK, so I was invited to the MWeb Game Cave thingy tomorrow night for the Diablo3 event. Hoping that they have some give aways... :)

honestly omega reminds me of a buddy I have up in england who is also full of sh1t and will argue a point till he is right

/no offence omega, but sometimes arguing over stupid stuff with you is a reason that makes this forum so great, so kudos to you lol
