Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Just out of interest sake, to people who have been hacked, have you ever joined a public game? I'm still very sceptical that this is actually the cause but it may be possible.

There are more and more people coming forward claiming they have never played on a public game and only with a group of friends that have been hacked. There is a huge security flaw with the game, they just won't admit it because it'll put their precious RMAH in danger of never getting off the ground.
 
Monk - yes I joined one public game for about 5 mins when I joined I think it was Caboose to give him some gear that I had that he could use.

After that I havent been near one and that was also over a week ago - right about the time the US clients started getting hacked. I will upload the image I have of the friends that I played with later tonight - I took a screenie of the guy who stole my stuff - I am still trying to report him to Blizz for hacking, no luck so far.

Why they thought they needed a general chat filled with 10's of thousands of people is beyond me. This is NOT an MMO.

Yep I will be doing that. My rant was more mock than anything else :p

Same here, D3 isn't an MMO i play with friend, I dont give a flying fuck about everyone else playing. Plus the only people on general seems to be gold sellers.
 
What difficulty are you playing on? Also are you using any abilities that recently got changed/nerfed in the recent patch?

It's still frustrating having to leave it every time you log in. But apparently your preference is now stored.

Why are you only playing with the people that I know? :D

yea its annoying, but it's 2 clicks so no biggy for me!

I play with people i know, cause trust is a issue :D

2 clicks every time on every character becomes an issue :P

I also only play with people that I know or their friends, which is why item and character hacking was never an issue!

Does anybody know if Error 37 is trending again tonight?
 
Well i havent seen anything that they have fixed the problem. so i would guess Error 37 is still an issue. I got in by luck last night.

Yea.. its good to stick too playing with people you know, that way you will never get hacked and your items stolen.

Ok well here are pics of my DH and Wiz (below). Just a quick look over you can see my DH is doing nearly 300dps more (67%) with pretty much the same amount of vitality while being 6 levels lower.

General suggestions; Get a better weapon, not sure about your weapon dps but I'm guessing it's quite low, you are almost always going to want the higher dps weapon over a weapon with more stats. Get rid of the shield, unless you are really attached to that play style, there is no need to have one and you are better off dual wielding. Try get rid of some of those other stats, DEX/INT, and convert them to STR, +dmg or +attack speed, even VIT would be better. Also when choosing a weapon don't forget to factor in the benefit of a socket as a ruby can generally add a significant bump to the dps, depending on weapon speed.

I actually only equipped the shield to push my Armor rating up & I think it did something for Damage. I'll look into the stuff you said above. Thank
