Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

I walked down to HMV Oxford Street to see what the queues where like for the midnight launch. They all had to go inside since its awesome London weather (i.e its raining & its cold) store was already packed with another 10 hours to go, so I'll be skipping the event. Did snap this pic of the first diablo stand.

and then proceeded to get myself this:

No change to order status from Amazon :( but Im not worried, Amazon ships until midnight.

I would have liked to get the one with D3 logo, but I can't justify paying another R150 for something that I'm just going to drag my grubby claws over.

I don't have any mouse pad. Haven't used a mouse pad for a long time.

My desk surface doesnt work too well with my death adder so I currently use the Cataclysm one I got with my Cataclysm CE which will now go to my wife.

Do the Diablo mouse pads offer any better playing surface compared to regular el cheapos or is it closer to the mouse pads that Razer Goliath and Roccat mouse pads that you pay a fortune for.
I have been wanting to get a pad for a while as my "mouse pad" is my table cloth, not bad but looks like I am cheap...

I love my Razer Goliathus Speed edition. I don't like using my mouse without it. It glides so beautifully, especially when used in conjunction with a Razer mouse.... If that's any help at all :)

Well my apm in hon did go up for some reason by about 10apm :) Its very smooth, and also im not getting that ghosting effect my mouse used to do anymore

Both Razer, Roccat & steel series claim that the mouse pads provide a better experience, I honestly dont know if there is any truth to it.

Mouse click dampening.

Mouse pads do make a difference, even though its a tiny one :D

My fav ones are the Cyborg ones and the XFX warpad.
On a side note mice make a difference..especially in online fps gaming, where small dpi settings make a huge difference, especially when sniping ect. For anything else, a normal decent quality mouse will be perfect.

I can say for certain my Gigantic Razor Mantis mousepad is better than those el cheapos. I've used it for the last 5 years and will continue to use it for another 5 years. :)

A good mouse pad makes tons of difference. Using a mouse on a regular surface is absolutely horrendous.

Well then I suppose I should be getting a mouse pad soon. The Joker I will be in contact with you soon about this.

I just took my steel series one out of the packaging, it definitely feels quality. And the print isn't on the pad as such, its like its part of the weave. Better than the one I got with the Cataclysm CE or the thing I had back in SA.

Was your one in SA and Cataclysm also Steel Series?

Nope, the Cataclysm one I got with the Cataclysm Collectors Edition. The one in SA was something else, I can't remember what it wasn't Razer. It worked fine until I took it off the desk which it kinda stuck to, it would just never lay flat.

it would just never lay flat.

sounds like my bedroom mat that I keep tripping on. Was that a common problem with that mouse pad or was it just a bad batch?

/I have been eyeing out the Goliaths by Razer so just need to know of all pros and cons to all mouse pads

@Caboose, maybe try giving them a call?

I dunno, but i wont buy anything like it again, which is why I went for the steel series one, its a more traditional mouse mat.
