Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Ok 1st off, if you are playing barbarian and your loving it please be aware that you'll hate it and want to burn it once you hit Hell Act II, the game becomes impossible for barbs..where pansy little fairies with very little vitality and very little defence survive easily...They fucked up..Barbs are messed up.

I have insane gear..and I am struggling my ass off..as in its not fun anymore.....

Before you chime in, make sure that (A) You are playing a Barbarian on hell and (B) You are playing act II.

Barb is under powered, even on Normal I can see that later on Soloing would be a bitch. Barb is best when played with AOE specialists like Wizard &/or Witch Dr. Which is why my solo character is a Wizard. Its too early for me to say if they fucked the Barb up, once I get to Hell/Inferno with him I will weigh in.

Lol.. I know what you mean - I got my assed kicked quite a few times last night - and I'm only at the start of Act II.

Mate knowing you, you're gonna have a bitch fit when you hit that..Its pathetic.
Its seriously unbalanced and none of the skills, or ruins help. I've tried tons of combinations and I fall
flat on my face everytime I get near a mob. Repairs are insanely expensive and the hp pots cost around 5000 coin for 10...
Ugh I am so annoyed...

You need a partner dude. When you get to Nightmare you can play barb, ill bring Wizard and Spooner can be Witch Dr.

I cant remember the last time I had a "bitch fit" about a game. Even Demons Souls was entertaining. I'll let you know what I think when I get to experience it first hand.

Well Joker, Waco won't be liking the sound of that. We just started making our way through nightmare, which is harder but still not hard enough. I wonder how my Monk will fare in hell difficulty?

Well here are my stats:

Strength: 660
Dexterity: 70
Intelligence: 269
Vitality: 775

Armor: 3286
Damage: 2546 DPS

They are pretty good, considering some of the gear I roll...but it just doesn't help at all!!

so, not wanting to go through all 80+ pages, was wondering if you guys know about

1. how to do the Cow Level (hidden level)
2. Elective mode for D3

if not, i'll share what i know :)

Okay guys it looks like the hackers create level 1 characters then join in on your game (if public) and in so doing somehow are able to access your account and steal your items. My suggestion for now is to avoid public games until Blizzard sorts this out. Luckily I'm only playing with three trusted people.

Same here, I dont play public only with people I know.

This badass Wizard took down Diablo on Normal last night in 2 tries. Almost became 3 tries when my HP was vrek low and I resorted to running around while dodging attacks and waiting for potion to CD, then I saw a Healing Well and I was back in teh game.
Awesomeness, Diamond Skin was a must, and Arcane Armour that brought my Armour up to 1100 :D

Any ideas on DH builds, mine is k but wantiung to know if I am missing something.

Level 36 Now Dexterity aroiund 750, Damage also around there with armour around 680. Using a 76 dps hand bow and quiver both with Sq Ruby Gems to up that Damgae as seen above. The rest of my kit is to boost VItality.

Playing Traps and companion as my defensive and split arrows, fan knives, elementel arrows as my attack forgot the other one but its not grenade it is a freezing arrow....

Passive skill is Damage increas on slow enemies, Archery and Trap damage increase

Powerful build but need tips on gaining hatred faster....

*EDIT*
Gonna modify the build to this: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aZYVRP!ceX!bbbZbZ

Should give more Hatred as well as fuel discipline on the passive skill

It's not just Barb's, it's melee characters in general (so including monk). Every single ability champions have are designed to mess with melee characters, they just create a killzone right on top of them and then expect us to walk in there and hit the mobs. Even mortar which is an ability they added late on in development to try 'even' things out a bit and focus on countering range STILL owns melee because you get 3 of them, they move apart and then still get 2 mortaring you in the face while you hit the 3rd.

Even playing by myself in Act I Hell, I get to a pack of 3 'wasp' champions with fear/desecrate/jailer/arcane, took me about 10mins to kill them since I could only ever get 1 or 2 hits in before they feared me or flew away.

Items have also become a problem. After normal it became apparent to us (group of 3) that the only rares that ever dropped were 8-10+ levels behind us, so we were still getting level 32-35 items doing Act IV nightmare at level 49-50. It go so bad I was forced to buy stuff off the AH otherwise I'd just sit there doing no damage and having not so much health. I saw a blue post suggesting people need to farm nightmare before going to hell, but seriously who wants to farm the second difficulty when you still have two more to go.

I think the big thing Blizzard is trying to do is to get people to synergize with other characters in a party. So yes while ur tanky melee hero might have a hard time being constantly feared away the idea is that he (or she) is the distraction while some ranged dps or spell caster nukes the crap out of the masses.

This may indeed be the case but Im sure the idea is that everyone, regardless of class, should be able to play solo. Again until I actually get to higher difficulties & levels I cant comment on this. If it turns out to be a balancing issues I hope its one Blizzard fix soon.
