Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

i been playing last 8 hours D3 with this paragon system but i still not so happy about this system i basically just playing same map over and over again to level more. they other need some new stage or area or dungeon because it making me lossing interest in the game.

I just gave it another try. Only played about 15 minutes or so, but it is definitely an improvement. However, I don't think I'm going to put much more time into it...

Well, I actually just finished the game. The new patch improved things, but I'm probably never going to play the game again now that I've seen the story through.

Did you play through all the difficulty levels? (respect)

I'm only at difficulty level 2 - its interesting, after you've finished the story the attraction changes - its actually quite fun playing against harder enemies.

Still lots left for me to.

+ 1

Neither the Paragon system or PVP will save this game...it's a step in the right direction though, but the damage is done with lame story and dialogues.

Give it a month and the game is abandoned again.

When Guild wars 2 release, D3 just going to be dead again nothing will help no matter what they do. Story finish and just replaying difficult and better armor wont do

Nah, I dropped the game halfway through a Normal playthrough way back in June, and this weekend I decided to at least finish the Normal campaign. Don't really have any motivation to even start nightmare.

Ah, okay then. Well, D3 has to be my poison for now - Skyrim / GW3 give me motion sickness :o

I still want them to add special events, i.e. say a certain region will be attacked by hordes of creatures and you have to survive as long as possible...

Yeah - too few of those - one of the early dungeons (Act 1) has an event like that - attacked by skeletons in room with four entrances. Hopefully now they've fixed the basic mechanics they can add content / events that are interesting (and that carry special rewards)

I gave it yet another go... Really isn't appealing to me. Haven't gotten any decent drops, only 1 rare, and watching some blue bar slowly move up doesn't really make me feel like I'm accomplishing anything...

I agree to some extend, it does make one feel like you accomplish a bit more, you won't feel it with the first initial Paragon level, need to get to level 5 Paragon so to speak. Remember your stats also increase so Inferno gets even more easier then.
I had minimal problems with my Monk and Arcane enchanted Elites....muuuuch easier than before.

The drops aren't that much better properties wise...but now and again there drops a very good rare.
One really has to play Inferno only to gain full benefit.

The rare drops occur quite more , and you can easily get up to 100K between the gold drops and if you have a clean inventory and farm Inferno a bit.

Like i mentioned before, the patch wont save the game no! but it will at least give it 2 months more replay value..
They already made their money out of it, i don't really think they care to much for the game.

I believe the damage has already been done. The vast majority of the players have left the game for various reasons, and I doubt that this patch is sufficient to bring them back.

I fully agree with the other posters, who said that the game is still in development and we've actually only been playing the beta.
Does it matter that people have abandoned the game? Blizzard have their money from us already?

Disclaimer: I'm a casual gamer. Have only finished the game on normal with one character and since then I've only played a couple of hours in the last few weeks. I don't see any of my friends online anymore so not much incentive to play now :(

great point! as long they made their money, why care about the game so much when they know they cant revive the game

I gave it another go this afternoon. Actually got a new pair of gloves from a drop! Guess I'll have to get to Paragon lvl 5...

It sounds like you are doing something very wrong. Normally in just over an hour run I fill my inventory full of rares and make just over 100 000 gold. Of course sometimes it's less and sometimes more. Are you playing long enough to get 5 Nephalim Valour? Because when you get that elites are guaranteed to drop rares.

Ya... As you can see from the post above your reply, I did end up getting a new pair of gloves. I only gave it 15 minutes at first with 2 stacks of Nephalim Valour... The 2nd run through I made it up to 5, but then gave up again when I got d/c'd right as I was about to face the Jailer in Act I...

They don't have my money :P I was lucky enough to win it on MyGaming, other wise I wouldn't have played it.

On other news: Torchlight 2 release date is being announced on Friday. I would love to see how that affects the D3 playing stats... Seems like a lot of the people are just playing D3 because that's what they have to play at the moment and since they bought it they might as well play it... Not really the right reasons to game imo :P
