The latest Tomb Raider was just right in length in my opinion. No pointless running around, everything just seemed to gel well. Although it was short it did not feel like it needed any additional content to make it any longer.

I didn't find Tomb Raider all that short? Exploring for upgrades and raiding hidden tombs extended the gameplay to around 18 hours for me.

I'm doing exactly this. I was just shy of doing a 100% completion on PS3, which is why I'm doing a lot of backtracking, ensuring all areas are 100% completed before moving on to the next area. Doing random things for more XP as well, so that I may fully upgrade my entire arsenal of weapons. It is rather time consuming, but worth it.

If you're into that kinda thing, I guess. Personally I can't stand games that pad out their length with filler content, which is why I hate most Ubisoft games.

It's probably why I also didn't like Guild Wars 2 that much. Everyone was always going on about how much content there was in every map, but I couldn't stand being forced to go explore Vistas and PoIs just to level up.

That's the beauty of it, it doesn't feel short at all. It took me close on 20 hours to rip through the main story without really doing anything extra of note. Could have been longer though, but this seemed on par with all the other Tomb Raider titles (anywhere between 10 and 20 hours for a playthrough)

For me, it depends on the game.

The better the game, the longer it can be. Especially if I feel it's worth achievement/trophy hunting.

Like Wolfenstein New Order, I finished it three times just to get the majority of the achievements I wanted to get. Think I've logged almost 40 hours on it.

The Uncharted series are also games I've finished multiple times.

For me, if it's worth playing, it's worth over playing. :p
