Off Topic: I always challenged my one Science Teacher and eventually when I proved him wrong he gave me a jack just because he was wrong and I was right, I just loled afterwards hehe... :D
 
To further derail: This whole discipline thing also ties in with no more compulsory military service. I missed out on compulsory service and sometimes I'm grateful and other times I really wish I had gone. I look at the guys who were in the army and see how the majority of them are disciplined and ordered in their lives. Then I look at some of these snot brats leaving high school today and think how they would've KAKKED off in the army.

I think the army gave a lot of kids some direction and purpose. Yes, some guys went off the deep end, but those kinds of people were never destined for epicness to start with. Sadly though, today's SA Army is a joke and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but I look at my boet who went to the border and even today, more than 15 years since he has left the army, how his life is structured and disciplined.
 
My ma het my hard gemoer as kind. Could never run away from her, she was like a bloody ninja with that slipper and belt...

Sadly those days are gone. Wasn't there talk about reintroducing compulsory military service recently ?

Ag please, that will never happen. People will riot and throw their arms in the air because its racist or some bullshit like that...
 
But I do agree though. Compulsory military service is a good way to dicipline the populace. A year or two of military service (Going out to actualy go fighting I feel should voulintary atleast.) will fix bad parents who are too pissy to pick up a belt.
