What platform will you be playing Doom on?

I love these moments, a few levels in, meet a new foe, tougher than the normal cannon fodder, it kills me a few times, I struggle to aim...screw...revs up chainsaw...easy and satisfying kill.

I gotta say, the game reminds me kind of Quake 2 as well...not that its a bad thing...not at all.

Again, my feeling towards DooM might be biased...I grew up on Doom and Quake, but I am loving it...and super impressed with the id tech 6 engine, it looks amazing.

If you liked either Doom or Quake...you MUST get it...anyway, imho.

waiting for the download

the disc was a complete joke... only installs 8 gigs.

Yup, why go through the trouble for that paltry amount....

Anyway, this level looks sooooo amazing...

this...doesnt even feel out of place in a 2016 game! :D Just seems so normal.

My copy of Doom arrived today. 6.9GB installed, now for the long download of 37GB. If I let it download tonight and tomorrow night then it should be finished by Friday morning.

I bought mine today! it was also sent today and they SAY it'll be here tomorrow. if that happens i can download it overnight at work (they have fibre FTW) and also be ready to play friday evening!

I really like them too...but they get me killed too often. Suppose thats the risk you take playing on hardest :/

I play Doom in the evenings, most evenings I am tired and if I struggle with a game, I get annoyed, so atm, I am playing on normal. I do die now and then, but the satisfaction of slamming a demon against a wall, curb stomping his head, ripping of limbs...its cathartic.

I will replay DooM on higher, thats for sure, looooooooooooooooots more hours for me to spend in DooM discovering every nook and cranny, learning more about the demon habits, etc.

I played this one level tonight, involved quite a lot of verticle movement with jumping alot too, I really enjoyed that! This coming from a platform hater! (read: I cant play them because I have the grace of a tree stump and the timing of drunk baby...so I get angry and break stuff.) But, it was fun, they obviously almost helped you alot with those green lights, but still, was fun. Heck, even the one part where you ran infront of a train down a corridor....reminded me of Quake 2.

This game fucking rocks!

id Software ftw!!

plus their news of a new Quake type game has me floating on heavenly clouds....

So disappointed though that no new content is coming to the single player experience, I mean the SP is basically the selling point for the game. I rate that if this title didn't have any MP functionality, it would have scored majority 10/10.

Be still, my beating heart...

If you were to connect an instrument to monitor my heart and pulse, it'll peak dramatically several times when playing Doom. Mostly when I picked up a weapon, like the double barrel shotgun, rocket Launcher and last night, the BFG-9000. Weird how much I enjoy just the simple act of picking up a new, but iconic weapon I've used to bits in Doom and Quake before. The moment after you pick up the BFG for the first time and get to use it... pure satisfaction.
This is my game for the year, I will be hard, very hard pressed to find anything better.

Yup, I really hope they are working on more behnd the scenes and with QuakeCon in August, they surprise us. Looking forward to QuakeCon, hopefully we'll see more about the new Quake game.

Having to start a new playthrough now, lost my save due to bug within a previous version and lost 18 hours of game time. Here we go again... /sigh

It's worth it. I've already played through most of the missions at least twice anyway. It's not like it's tedious or something. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

I'm curious as to whether i'll get the "all challenges in a single playthrough" achievement since i've replayed missions as i go.

Enjoying the crap out of it, but taking my sweet time :)

So if anyone was disappointed that they could never get the Collector's Edition because of its R2k price you might be pleased to know it's currently selling for less than $50 on Amazon! I jumped at the chance to get one since at that price, when the Rand was starting to do okay, meant it cost the same amount as the digital version on Steam. Anyway, it finally arrived today and I have to say the Revenant statue is really cool! :D

One thing that I find really surprising, and this has probably been discussed in the thread already, is how the game comes with a 7.01Gb disc, yet only 3.3Gb is copied off that disc during installation. I know the game requires a massive download but what the hell happened to the other 4Gb of data on that disc?
