Dota 2

My friends told me to leave the game, abandon when we started to loose. So i did and then they didnt allow me to party up for next game. Then they left. This was when I didnt yet know you get punished :(

Funny now looking back at it, they laughed

ROFL almost like the Alt F4 trick if someone say they lag :p

Day 1 of Dota 2 is completed. And to report, it went well, for a noob.

I played two games, both with bots. After reading all the guides, watching a game or two, and realising that this is not that big of a departure from the original game, I started full of confidence (read cocky). I played bots on hard, and got my ass handed to me with Luna. The next one I came down back to earth, and played normal bots. Played a hero I know well, Sniper, and actually wasn't a wasted space on the map. Ended on stats of 7-4-6, and for this noon, that is a victory!! This weekend will be my Dota Boot camp, and one of these days you guys will actually want me on yo team.

Haha thats awesome to hear man! My advice is, not that you asked but I'm giving it anyway, focus on the items first. You'll learn the heroes automatically over time.

All advise is always welcome! :) Will check them out and keep you guys posted on my progress. I found the in game hero build menu. Seems it work well. Would you say their any good for newbies to start out on?

I use the little book top Left corner and select a build from there if I dont play the heroes often. They work pretty well esp the higher rated ones.

for starting out they are fine, but be careful not to get too comfortable because as you get better you'll need to start thinking about what items you want to get and those aren't necessarily in the suggested items menu.

Also check out the guides tab. (the little book 2nd on the left of your bar in game). Those are user created guides

Great will have a look. Most of the items I can remember from the first Dota's days, but even then I struggled to get the correct item with the correct Hero. I think that will determine on who and against whom you are playing.

So then another question, better to all random the heroes and start to get to know them, or stick with one hero, learn the items first, then go on learning how the bloody hell Meepo works (as an example)

I would decide which role I want to learn first Support prob better as you do not need to farm that intensly and just learn the items, and ward mech etc to help your team.

If you want to play carry ensure you know how to last hit and farm if not you will let your team down. In the lower levels everyone chooses carries... This piss me off immensely.
