Dragon Age: PC or PS3

I don't know what to do anymore, the PC CE will be here on monday and the PS3 version on the 20th. I know the PC version is the better choice, but I'm not sure if my PC will handle it acceptably. My specs are as follows: Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, 2 GB ram and a 512 MB GeForce 8500. (It's ancient, I know). Does anyone have any idea how it will run on my PC? I don't care if I have to turn the graphics way down, as long as it runs smooth with no lag. That said, should I get the PC version or rather wait for the PS3 version?

doesn't look good for your PC ..... but to play an RPG on console is just bleh.

Yeah I saw the requirements, but what the hell is a core 2 single? I wish there was a demo or some way I could benchmark it without actually buying it first ...

Thats what I think as well, which means my PC will at least run it. But I want to know if it will run smooth, even on the lowest graphics. I cannot afford both the PC CE and PS3 versions this month as I have to get Assassin's Creed 2 as well.

Wlad, console for Assasins Creed 2 and PC for Dragon Age.
Dragon Age is in the mould of tactical-pause gaming. And a PC will always be better for that :)

I'd wait and go for the PS3 version. You might end up disappointed if it runs like crap on you PC. Apparently the more cores you have, the better the game will run. Up to a max of four cores.

Thats what I'm thinking as well. I just dont want to get it on PC and it then it lags terribly and becomes unplayable. There is no way I can upgrade or get a new PC, I just cannot afford it.

If u really not sure about it, then rather buy one new. And buy the other one 2nd hand at xmas time for ur PS3. The games will always be there. And u don't need to get both :)

But I do!!! Im still getting the PC CE regardless of whether or not it runs on my PC, I want that map. :p I just need to figure out which version to get first, i.e. the one I'll actually play. If it works smooth on my PC I probably wont get the PS3 version, but I have no idea how my PC will run it. Also cant download it or anything, I dont really have a lot of cap per month.

[PCtard] Sell your PS3 and upgrade your computer! :D [\PCtard]

Okay seriously, Dragon Age will definitely be better on the PC, even if you have to play it with some lag.

LOL, never. I loves my PS3!

The game is VERY well optimized, if I turn off VSync I get 150+ FPS, so they have done a proper job with the PC version. That said, I do have a high end PC, while yours is a bit older.

You do meet the requirements and I'm certain it will run with a mixture of low-medium settings judging by how well the game is optimized. I'm assuming your running XP 32.

Once in game, its not difficult at all to see that the target platform for the game was definatly PC through and through. I'm not being fanboi, just stating it as it is. So if you can scrape by on the PC, the experience would still be better.
