Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

watch the vid on the german link. Comes in like a book form! looks pretty awesome :O

Think that's only for the press. If you look closely you can see its personalized with the journo's name on it and has a battery operated recording from Dr. Ray and Gregg. It would be rather expensive if they did that for all of us.

I do hope the map they showed in the video is the actual size of the ce map, that looks awesome.

I def agree :) I saw the name and everything on it, would be awesome if all our's was so personalised with our names :D Map looks great!

Its already been delayed twice, I doubt it will be delayed again. Besides they wouldn't be sending journo's review copies if they were going to delay it again. a Polish pc mag is bring out their full review on 30 September.

Like I promised guys first Dragon Age Origins review is out. You can see the cover of the cd action mag here:http://www.cdaction.pl/

Here's what the polish guys who have the mag have wrote back so far. General feeling is game is great if you love old school rpg's but can be difficult if you haven't played them before. The graphics do look a bit dated according to them but personally I will take in exchange for everything else the game does right.

This is the pc version which was reviewed.

I've just finished reading the review. The overall rate is 8+/10.
Pros: multi-threaded plot
climate
combat
great possibilities for development
length

Cons: looks old school
some fights are difficult like hell even at lower difficulty
levels

There are additional rates for:
- graphics: 7/10
- music: 9/10
- playability 9/10

They had a second reviewer also do a small piece on DAO:

"What I can say, I had great expectations towards this game. Although I have to agree with all the cons mentioned by Allor, yet I do think that the game diserves better rate and even the quality mark. We should keep in mind that DA:O has to be approached in specific ways.
This is not next-gen RPG game .[...] We have playability in old, very classic style. Gathering the party, prepering for hours for major battles, plodding at a development tree and pondering investing in which areas eventually pays off - that is the very core of the game. We haven't got many games nowdays requiring so much involvement from a player. At the same time none of them offer so complex, multi-threaded and interesting plot, which is the most important thing. Thanks to it you really wanna spend dozens (or even houndreds!) hours with DA:O. I recommend the game to all hardcore RPG's fans. [...]"

Deslock(rpg legend and guy doing the pc gamer review) gave some of his thoughts. I really envy this reviewers who already have their copy.:(

Desslock offers some hints to his forthcoming PC Gamer review at QT3:
FWIW, the reviewable build I've had for a few weeks is rock solid - in over 80 hours of play, it hasn't crashed once and is very polished. No issues whatsoever aside from a single journal entry that improperly recorded the resolution of a quest (the Conor quest, Bioware guys).
If you've been looking for a party-based RPG with tough tactical combat, Dragon Age is definitely for you.

Which is not to say it's combat intensive - it's actually very dialogue heavy, and most fights feel like heavily designed, challenging, setpieces. The awarded "achievements" for keeping your character alive in combat are well-earned.
(A no-persistent-injury achievement? That would be great!)
Time to print is much quicker than it used to be - we are saving space for the review in the next issue. I have another week with the game before I have to submit the review and the review will still be out before the game's release in November.
