Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

well there is no DAO updater service running only normal DAO is running in the taskmanager.

From the readme:

If you would like the Dragon Age Updater service to run when your
system starts, follow these steps:
- Run "services.msc" from the Run menu option in Windows. Pressing
the Windows key + "r" will bring this up. (NOTE: services.msc
controls essential components of Windows. Errors in configuration
can prevent the system from operating correctly. Any changes you
make in services.msc are at your own risk.)
- Find the "Dragon Age: Origins Updater" service in the list.
- Double-click on the service to bring up the properties.
- Press the "Start" button if the service is not currently running.
- Change "Startup type:" to "Automatic".
- Close the properties and Services interface.

Clicking the start button there is the important bit ;)
This buggered me around a bit as well, but when I started the service, all was well.

I played quite a bit.I'm loving it so far!!!!Will post first impressions later. Its gonna be hard juggling Borderlands,MW2 and this fark. This is the game thats gonna make me spend more time on my PC.graphics ain't to bad too and its not a killer on my system.Well optimized. My 8800gt plays it well still.Sometimes theres a hitch but nothing major.Overall I find theres a good balance between dialogue and battle.Got used the control instantly and the pausing in battle kinda reminds me of Mass Effect. It has that Bioware kinda feel to it which is quite good.God this is the RPG I have been waiting of.Off to play some more now!!!:D

Okay so I did put in the code for the Blood Dragon armor, but the game isn't downloading the content. I'm not even getting the lucky stone. Help?

hey isengard did you read my post also happened to me like just a on page 104-5

D:\Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship go there(yours could be diffrent) and run:
daupdatersvc.service
Also the Daupdater
and then the game log in and wait for the downloads to fail.
Then click on each one and download them

stone prisoner is 300meg so going to take a while mine is on 50% after an hour or more.

Thanks, but after logging out and exiting the game, then logging back in resolved it. Got my downloads. :D Not going to DL the Stone Prisoner, it's a little too large.

It is large, but I'm going to say its worth it.

I didn't actually take a look in to the Stone Prisoner stuff till I was quite a few hours into the game, 75 hours round about :D Anyway, I regret going so late to do it, as the content is actually tightly integrated into the game. I didn't miss anything, so don't worry about that, I just wish I'd gone sooner.

When you do finish downloading it, I would say invest some time into it sooner than later.

I'm being pretty damn vague here not to spoil anything, but you'll see what I mean.

Got to play about 3 hours last night (where did the time go ?) - awesome game. I really love the small things in this game as well, just looking at the way the clothes and armor etc was made. Also like the touches of humor also injected in the conversations. Stood for a while just looking at the dog and it's mannerisms in the camp (next to the guard). There was so much loving care put into this game and it shines through. Sure I understand what the guys are saying with lower review scores, it is standard fantasy fare on the surface (although way more adult than say Tolkien). And it is really really well polished. The rest of my game time this year will be devoted to this, I can see.
