Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

I didn't have much trouble with Flemmeth, beat her on the first try on normal, although it was an extremely close shave with my whole party wiped except for my rogue with a sliver of health that just managed to finish her off. Love this game, you get through a fight like that and you want to high five yourself ;)

As for tactics:
Wynne healing everyone and buffing
Sten with a 2-handed sword I found with +10 dragon dmg and blood dragon armour
Main warrior with shield and Warden's armour from Soldier's peak. Lots of taunt etc. and enough constitution to survive getting picked up and chewed on.
Lelliana backstabbing when she wasn't getting kicked in the head and running away and pelting Flemmeth with arrows when she tried to stun the party.

You can forget about using most of your shield bashes, etc. as they have no effect, so just focus on staying alive and getting as much damage in as possible, and keep any passive effects that stop knockdowns on. I used some poisons on Lelliana's weapons, not sure if that gave me any edge as Flemmeth resists everything.

Spoiler:

Just wait till you follow the andraste's ashes quest arc after redcliffe, the high dragon you can summon there will **** you up properly :) Still haven't killed that bastard, and luckily it doesn't seem to be required to complete any quests..

Where'd you find that sword?

How the hell are some of you Lvl 15 already when you only had like a day headstart on me? I'm not even Lvl 9 yet. But anyway ...... those ruins are not very friendly are they

+1

I've been putting some serious hours and I'm only level 11... Are you guys reading the codex?

Maybe that's why I'm lagging ...... I'm doing every single thing I can in every area I'm in, inbetween reading everything. No rushing will happen here, nuh uh. I'm really suffering in the ruins and I think it's because of my low level :(

I am scanning the codex not reading it. Trying to do everything in each area. I have to go back for two quests at the cirle of magic since I have found every thing there.

I've only run into one merchy who had a backpack and he wanted 20 or 30 gold for that iirc ........

I bought one in Derelin, it's worth the gold. Just hit level 12. Not that it makes things much easier, but the extra skills do help. Haven't met a dragon yet, but it's not like the rest of the mobs are any easier. Mages are a real pita, always take them out first or risk getting wiped...

Yeah, mages should always be your top priority target. They can become a serious problem if you leave them alone in the back, spewing fireballs, all kinds of AoE storms and debuffing the heck out of your party.

Okay, so I just had my ass handed to me by a Dragon. Guess I'm just not ready yet, but I can't see the fight getting much easier even if I came back at a higher level. It's really insane stuff.

First time I had a decent time to play just completed the fael and got killed a few times but just change tactics and it was easy peasy. Just hit level 10

might be a redcliff spoiler.
Defending redcliff was cool but just wish I could save those dudes.
The golem dude is awesome with another warrior. Still want to see what happens if I put a rouge in the warriors place.

I killed the Dragon last night..

Spoiler:
I got the High Dragon for the awesome armor and I killed Flemeth

The tactic is to have just ranged focused on the target and have 1 warrior in CC. Then all you do is when the dragon turns in your direction move to his side. When he does it again, move to his other side. Rinse and repeat. The fight becomes very easy.

I also used Shale to tank. If you can get your hands on Large Clear Fire Crystal that will help a ton!

Also killed the high dragon, much easier at lvl 18. Wynne, Morrigan, and Lelliana ranged, main warrior with shield taking the punishment. Mages still kick my ass, trying to level up main with Templar dispel magic skills now, should've started earlier as the Darkspawn throw bunches of mages at you later.

Spoiler:

Absolute worst mage is in the 'suspicious hovel' in Denerim. No way to get my ranged peeps out of the AOE weakness, etc. effects and he resists everything, so you just get punished and hope you don't run out of lyrium :(.

Anybody else looking forward to this game?? I have been looking forward to this since 2004, still disappointed that EA pushed release back in order to save marketing costs and not hurt their console sales for the game.

Any there's a pretty good new video available:

So I bought Dragon Age today ... Impulse buy, but screw it. :D

Anything I should know before jamming ?

Is it too hopeful to assume that this game has co-op or some form of MP?

make sure you're up-to-date with drivers and SP's ........ game wise, just be sure to explore a lot, don't rush :D

I take forever to play games because I try explore and do as many side quests as possible before continuing with the storyline.

That's kind of why I stopped Oblivion. I found a horse and galloped into the sunset, never finding my way back home.

No co op and no mp at all.

BTw. Is it just me or is denerim more buggy than the rest of the game?? Haven't had any crashes till I got to this city and now I get the stopped working crash quite often.
