Ya those reviews seemed a bit harsh... From what most of the guys on the forum have said its pretty decent... if not more than pretty decent...
 
I'll get some quality time on it this weekend. If anything, it looks fabulous.

Though I will admit, the control layout is kinda weird. I've never used R1 as a jump before and as such I sometimes mash the wrong buttons.

Are you not able to remap keys?
 
The user scores on Metacritic are 7.6, 8.0 and 8.0 for PC, PS4 and Xbone respectively. User scores are generally much harsher on crappy games, especially crappy hyped games. Those scores are pretty good. It sounds like the game is quite fun from what I have heard from friends. I think this game is probably a try-before-you-buy type of game, but is likely going to be enjoyed by most.
 
Well for work reasons and stress (and job security) I didn't get the time to play over the weekend. Though I am on leave now, so I will pick it up laters and joll on the couch.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the game... Tv should arrive Wednesday so hopefully il get some game time in then :D

Goofy is if you skate/surf the opposite to the standard direction. (So this is what you are thinking of)
Fakie is when you skate "backwards"
