EA scores a perfect rating for LGBT equality

You choose to be oppressed so why does this really important. Its like Americas BEE status thing, pure marketing and means absolutely nothing to 99% of the world

I don't see how this applies to anyone.

I used BEE because unless your the actual director of a BEE company you don't actually gain any advantage. In the same way unless you have a job with EA, how is this relevant to anyone. Its just a fancy badge you can use, but it means nothing.
 
At least they don't discriminate but its irrelevant hey, sexuality in the battlefield doesn't work, yeah you should put it on your CV, #crazy, :)

As is quite clearly written in the article, it applies to the LGBT demographic within EA. Thus it is relevant to them, and the front-facing image of their company to the LGBT public.

I'm really not sure how you don't understand this, but I think your "choose to be oppressed" statement might be a clue.

Oh Jesus Christ. I've had this shitty, moronic discussion so many times in the past. I don't feel like going into depth, so here's a summary.

-I'm gay, and I certainly never made a conscious choice to be gay.
-Nobody has any right to oppress anyone because of their sexuality, even if that person ignorantly believes homosexuality is a 'choice'
-Saying someone chooses to be oppressed is on par with blaming women for getting raped.
-Please stop being an ignorant douchebag.

Electronic Arts, along with most Publishers realize that there are, contrary to popular belief amongst the ignorant, gay and lesbian people that form part of their target market
This market segment contributes to X amount of sales for electronic Arts per annum, once again contrary to popular belief, gay and lesbian people also work and earn money, and also spend their money on various items, including games

Therefore, this rating is not some random or ill conceived badge of honor as you referred to it, it is an important Segment Marketing Tool, used for aligning the publishers' core business to the needs and wants of this demographic

You can't compare it to BEE, at all, one is a broad based revision of an economic system by governments across the globe to attempt to rectify and stabilize opportunities, the other is a Marketing and Market Assessment Tool, they are nothing alike
 
So I'm not entitled to an opinion on the matter. I never said I'm one to harass someone because they are gay nor that its fair to discriminate against someone because of their personal choices but I still believe its an active choice one makes.

There's a very big difference in being gay and being raped.

So its a marketing tool, like "proudly south african", sounds like a marketing badge to me

I suggest you read it :p

I believe sexual preference has something to do with a persons genes,something we don't have control of yet.

Whether EA is doing it for good or to try and get a larger market and look better to the public doesn't really matter.
