Early access games thread

yeah i put that one on the backburner until a v1 release. Same with Besieged, now that i think about it.

My experience with early access
kerbal
speedrunners
don't starve
besieged
and most recently
7 days to die is still in early access

I don't normally commit to early access until I seen gameplay from others on youtube,

I've not been disappointed by my lot so far and the top 3 and now out of early access.

Enjoying 7 days quite a bit but it maybe more fun co-op only played the single player mode so far, it still feel a little early access at times but its still pretty stable at this point.

I reckon I've played and own more early access titles than anyone else on MyG xD lol

The list as it stands...

Ark Survival Evolved
7 Days to die
Besiege
DayZ
Day of Imfamy
Empyrion Galactic survival
The Forest
Fractured space
Fragmented
Rust
Stranded deep
We happy few

Just some of the ones that come to mind xD

I love survival/crafting based games. I also run quite a few servers for some early access titles.

Aren't you playing the Star Citizen alpha as well?

Do games ever come out of being early access and become complete games?

Im always weary of buying early access because they are incomplete. Also, once the guys have made their money from early access sales, where is the incentive to carry on developing?

It's more about making savvy choices. Assetto Corsa I bought on Early Access and I don't regret one bit of it. Then you look at crap like Day-Z. Prison Architect and Starbound are some great ones that I've bough on EA and have come full circle.

Out of the games I played three are out of early access and are full games. kerbal, speedrunners and don't starve.
but I normally don't support an early version of and early access game, like with We Happy Few I am waiting before I pick it up.

So, I've been playing Rimworld over the weekend, and I have to say, I absolutely love it!! Its such a complex, interesting, random management style simulation type game. The mechanics are on point and rather unique, in the sense that I haven't played anything like it. Its such a small game, yet deep and rich in content and replayability. I highly recommend you pick it up if you get the chance. The devs update the game fairly regularly, and at the moment the game is really well built for a Early Access game. Plus, mods support right from the main menu.

Is it the Terry Pratchett universe? if not, no care! :p

Spoiler: show
(Yes I know its Discworld, its just a joke)

n00b! :D Link here too.

But yeah, really needs a thread of its own. Great to see what kickstarter can do when it works.

Haha, lol I was just scrolling through the new things on Steam and saw that it was one of the featured items today. When I checked the release date on its store page it had yesterday's date, so I assumed it was newsworthy. :o

Hey, hey. To be fair I was just posting that the game is now available on Early Access in the Early Access thread! :p

How Astroneer makes crafting fun

Astroneer is a space game about hoovering up alien materials with a magic gun and listening to them plop into your backpack. And in this Astroneer has cracked something very special in crafting and resource management: it’s actually fun.

This game is looking good and I will keep my eye on it. I just worry about it's longevity, what does it have to offer besides some building and exploring.
