Elections 2014

I know the ANC will not lose (The uninformed and uneducated that still believe they are getting their houses will never vote for another party) but hopefully the majority of people have seen what the ANC are doing to this country. The lesson from the Etoll system, the rising food, petrol, electricity, cost of living over all will steer them to vote for someone else.

I hope...

Seems the average South African enjoys being screwed over by corruption and bad service delievery

Our office's cleaning lady maintains that Zuma is by no means corrupt, even though his friends might be. Also, Nkandla doesn't matter because we gave our Apartheid president's (I wasn't even alive) the same amount of money. Uneducated masses don't care if they get screwed, because they don't know that they are being screwed.

The true definition of a democracy defines that; each important decision must only be passed once a majority vote is reach by all people participating in the democracy. This means that in a true democracy, each individual person, not a party, should be deliberating and voting on laws and regulations within a country. As you can imagine, the early democracies found this to be a big logistical problem, as you can't as easily get every single person to partake in such deliberations. So out of that came the idea of a political party; a party that represents like-minded communities and people to represent them in parliament.

I say this for two reason:

1. I truly feel that this ideology has been lost completely through the years, and this was not how our democracy was setup at all. I for one can't really find any political party that fully encapsulates my ideas. The ANC is too corrupt, the DA to hung-up on being "anti-ANC", the EFF is just wrong and way too radical, the IFP too narrow-minded, COPE is leaderless, VF+ is too right winged, and the rest of the parties can't be bothered to make an impact. The parties have forgotten about the people they are serving, although some are more focused on listening what their followers have to say and want.

2. We live in the 21st century, where our world has never been smaller. The internet has completely changed the way in which we view the world. Imagine living in a democratic country that is so true to the meaning of democracy, it gives the parliamentary votes direct to the citizens. We as a democratic nation can then vote on regulations without having to put our hopes in a party we do not fully agree with. Imagine the change that will make.

Obviously these are far fetched ideas, but the current election made me think, what if...

Seems the average election is rigged. Voting is a waste you need to take to the streets if you want change.

cannot wait to get out this sinking ship.

The grass is not always greener on the other side...just saying. A negative view of a country goes with you to your new country, and it's only a matter of time before they piss you off as well.

Why would you want to love Omega's life?

Although the voting is done now, here is a quiz to check whether you voted for the correct party, and the results may be very surprising. In the end I voted for the correct party I agree with the most, but 2 other (very) surprising parties featured also high on my list...

Know Your Party

WTB tender for human print recognition for voting. Remove shitty paper (and save the planet) and all the KAK revolved around it.

Prints dont lie.

Do you truly hate life here that much that you believe only happiness awaits you if you leave it?

Do you truly hate life here that much that you believe only happiness awaits you if you leave it?

Why is it so bad that I do not enjoy being here? Firstly I am not going to be a civilian for long in england. Secondly the pound is stronger than the rand and it will be easier to visit other countries if I want to do so.

I want to get away from my family(excluding my brother and mom) I don't have anything holding me here. There is nothing to do here, its getting worse to travel at night. Had a few of my friends being booked in by cops and there cell phones getting confiscated from them by the police and never getting them back.(they weren't breaking any law)

No I don't think happiness is waiting for me but I can make myself happy,by doing something I always wanted to do. I am joining royal marine commandos,I have no opportunities here. There are barely any good music festivals here we have to hold our breath for good bands to come here.

My life here is empty. People say I will battle with money there but fuck it I battle here anyway.

People love bashing England, and bashing people who leave to live there.

I doubt I will live there for the rest of my life. I don't know where I will end up but its a start of a journey. People are satisfied to have a family and have a good stable job not me. I don't care if people scoff and think I am a joke I refuse to live my life for other peoples expectations. I want to experience the world. See places go where the road takes you. I don't want to end up sitting at some job doing the same thing every day and look back and think wow what did I do with my life. And the british pound is the best way to really get the journey. Life is short and its going fast. I am 25 and its going faster every year. I have my plans you have yours worry about yourself than what everyone else is doing with yours.

I mean over in Europe you can pursue your music if you wanted to. Here there is no way in hell I can. There is a lot more to the world than one country.

My whole life has been shitty. Growing up in a abusive home takes a toll on a person. I give off this impression on the internet as this kid that doesn't know whats outside his home. You guys don't know me in real life. I know what the world is like beyond my home. And honestly I don't care if the grass isn't greener on the other side but at the moment this side now is pretty much mud for me now and really have no reason to be here.
