Erotic game "Seduce Me" booted-off Steam Greenlight

Ironically, I think late-night porn on E-tv was stopped. A few Christian groups petitioned that it should be removed 'for the sake of the children.' Always ironic. How about they start monitoring what their children do instead?

You just googled it didn't you?

Nope. I just remembered the older ones. Those were lank kak.

Yeah. There were plans of having a porno channel on DSTV as well, until the conservatives crawled out from under their rocks.

lol you guys still carrying on....

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop posting in this thread now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Sex causes more harm than violence. fact :)

Yeah, that one is especially WTF. I mean, DSTV has built-in parental controls. Don't want your children watching porn, block all 18 rated movies. It's not exactly like they can hack the decoder to get past the password, and if they were skilled enough to do that they would likely be getting porn elsewhere anyway. :p

Conservatives, eh? Eish.

So many built in control that I have to change the language to English - Normal (or whatever it is every time) because it always leaves a pause when someone swears or says God.

Yeah, the conservative community in this country is really something. I don't mind people who are conservative, it is when they start infringing on ideas and needs of other people that I start to get irked.

I hate that shit. Always turns any movie into a stuttering contest.

while im all for kinky games, i also agree that its a good thing this game got denied. problem is if it got accepted it would set a precedent and if its on something as easily accessible as steam who knows what would come next ;) anycase porn is more fun if its hidden deep within a folder,in a folder, in a folder in a hidden folder in your system files lol

I would actually quite have enjoyed it. The one or two dating sims I've played actually had a story line and is an enjoyable single player experience.

Instead of:

"Fuck you Fuck Fuck Fuck him Let black guy get killed Fuck yeah fuck shit ass faggot ass muncher rape black dildo jou ma se cunt asshole nigger"

which people pay $60 for, and have no problem being on steam.

**
I thought stars would get added to the quoted section, admin's feel free to remove it.

You can still enjoy it, you will just have to get it from the company's site rather than steam.

I watched the gameplay trailer and I don't like the art style. I like the anime looking ones from Japan.

Also I enjoy that all my pc games (excluding blizzard) are on steam ;)

Hey

I am the rescuer of the God Argument.

1) Yes the Bible states that lust is a sin
2) As you are such a well-read christian you may also have read the following points...
-Violence is a sin
-The mere thought of violence is considered to be equivalent to murder
-All sins are equal [This point means that if you told your boss that you like him but really you hate him - you just murdered a baby.]

In conclusion - you're being exceptionally hypocritical and please inform yourself before you make all Christians look like ... well, look like you.

TO THE REST OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED IN RELIGIOUS COMMENTS:

My opinion on this matter is...

A lot of you are saying "PORN IS BAD - THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!". Yeah these are the same 18 > year olds that are playing GTA4 *SIDENOTE: You really think they haven't google'd enough cheat codes that they don't know what porn is?*
1) You need a credit card to buy anything. This has been mentioned but i don't think people get it. Also if parents are giving their kids hundreds of rands on their steam accounts, you don't think they have access to porn that I cannot even conceive?

Also something that popped up was "THIS CONTENT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR A PUBLIC SYSTEM!"
1) Yeah cause games like Sleeping Dogs and KillEveryoneOnYourScreen 7 [call of duty] is totally appropriate and safe for all ages.
2) Steam is not a public system. You have to sign up for it.
3) BRING UP THE ARGUMENT OF THE COMMERCIALIZATION OF PORN IS BAD FOR SOCIETY BUT VIOLENCE IS. I DARE YOU. I DOUBLE DARE YOU.

I also enjoy how everyone rages about age-verification when it comes to porn but never mind me [A 17 year old male] being able to play games clearly rated 'R' on steam without any hassle.

So in conclusion - i think porn games should be allowed on steam but i would understand if they under-played the advertising of it. From a business perspective it was a bad move since they are going to lose out on a lot of cash coming in from porn related material. However, from the perspective of a company that cares about its image it was the right thing to do.
The reasoning behind the decision should be changed as they should clearly stipulate in the terms and conditions that "NO NUDITY MAY BE SHOWN" which will take them down the road of banning games from steam such as... GTA IV and i can continue to list these games but i feel i'll just be doing too much advertising.

Unless Steam wishes to look like hypocrites they need to take a firm stance on this (which i will respect them even more for) or they need to get off their high horse and let indie dev's get the same advantage as Triple A titles.

Lets not forget - sex sells.

**Note: if you want to rage at me for being a minor and being misinformed and stupid and what ever other types of extensive bias you have toward teenagers. Feel free. I've stated my opinion and any intellectual person who would like to discuss my opinions in a manner which involves actually arguing and not just saying - "YOU STUPID HURR DURR", feel free ^_^

me - out.

@panic I'm not even sure what your arguments are, just lots of over aggressive statements. You seem to have taken an altogether black and white view to the situation but the case is far more nuanced than that. Firstly Steam it's banning nudity or sexual content, it is banning an Erotic game. You may argue like Tarryn did in her article that there shouldn't be a distinction but nevertheless it's a distinction Valve has chosen to make. It's not just sex versus violence either, there are many forms of both and sure we seem to be more accepting of violence but at the same time there are still limits. You can't just say "oh well they banned one game for sexual content therefore they must ban all games with sexual content" that is a rather juvenile view.

As for the parental control issues, I don't think anyone was arguing they should have it just for sexual content but that their parental control features just just be better overall.

Also since I didn't really investigate the game in question I can't really say whether it was porn or not but erotic doesn't necessarily mean porn. Putting porn on Steam would be a very bad move for Valve since I can tell you know they would lose almost all their publishing partners then Steam would just be "that creepy place for porn games". They are in the games business not the porn business, if they thought different then they would make a different service.
