Eve Online

Yeah, well you are moving their goods

Anyone know the best way to get a clone into a Rorqual?

Not very Lucrative then is it. If you take into account u need to fly the stuff and if its into low sec u need to hire an escort and them pay them. 2.1Mill was the best 1 I saw.

Say which one of you guyz Fly transports? Something Huge.

If i get 1 Transport pilot and 4 Frig or Cruiser or 2 Frig 2 Cruiser Pilots i can Have my transport Pilot fly the cargo with me and the other guyz providing cover. How want in?

Now there is something I think would be super boring in Eve, being a cargo hauler.

I dunno hey.... our CEO has a Rorqual (Capital ship sized freighter with a jump drive)

It can take around 2 battleships/4 battlecruisers/6 cruisers/12-15 frigates

I imagine a couple of those in a system undocking all the ships would be scary

Imagine how interesting it would get if u got pulled out of warp by some pirates and your escorts had to keep you alive So you could deliver the cargo and make money for the corp. Would be more interesting than PVE.

@ OC that would be scary.

That would be fun and amazing to see, but I wouldn't call that freight hauling.

It would certainly be more intense and "stressful" then pve, but at the end if you're still alive it's back to the boring jump warp, jump, warp cycle.

Good thing that there are all kinds of people in Eve, that are happy / enjoy doing all kinds of things, else it just would not work.

EDIT: Old news, broken RSS feed

Human Cattle level 2 is loads of fun!

PAX 09: EVE Online: Dominion
EVE's 11th free expansion features an overhaul of the game's sovereignty mechanics.
by Marissa Monera

US, September 5, 2009 - We visited the CCP booth at Penny Arcade Expo and got to chat with EVE Online Lead Designer Noah Ward, a.k.a. "Hammerhead",on their recently announced expansion "Dominion". Slated for release in November 2009, this is EVE's 11th free expansion and it features an overhaul of the game's sovereignty mechanics. According to Noah, they are simplifying the way in which you claim space and attack people, and they are also letting alliances upgrade their space and invest in it.

Along with that, they are rebalancing the power of ships, making adjustments so that no one type of ship will be heavily favored. It's always been thought that the outcome of a battle was more or less settled with the presence of a Titan capital ship, the largest ship in the game, as its doomsday weapon could potentially wipe out an entire fleet. However, in the expansion this weapon is being changed from an area-effect to a single-target one. On the other end of the spectrum, they are introducing fighter-bombers, small ships much like the current fighters but which can destroy capital ships. Also in the pipeline are so-called "speedboat missions" for smaller ships, as most of the existing PvE missions tend to focus on the larger battleships.

As social networking seems to be the buzzword of the new millennium, EVE steps up to the plate by introducing COSMOS, a social networking framework that allows players to create Facebook-like pages for their EVE characters, allowing them to maintain friend lists, write blogs, update their status, send each other messages and upload pictures. E-mail sent ingame can be read by the recipient through the website. Corporations and alliances will also have their own page.

But, according to Noah, this is only the beginning of where they want to take this feature. Eventually, they want players to be able to access all sorts of ingame information from this website and even update their skills or buy and trade goods from the market without logging into the game, possibly even from their mobile phones. All the data that goes into the social network will also have API support, which will be valuable to fansites once they start putting in features like the calendar and market data. EVE currently supports an ingame web browser that's a little dated so this functionality will also be upgraded so players can access the website from within the game.

With the expansion, they are introducing more tutorials for advanced stuff like PvP and exploration. These tutorials are optional, meant for players who think they might need a little bit of help before they venture out into the cruel world. Planet graphics are being revamped so each planet will be unique and truly beautiful. Also, players will now be able to gift other players with Pilot License Extensions (PLEX), which are game time cards that can be purchased from the EVE website and that can be traded ingame.

We asked for an update on "Walking in Stations", the highly anticipated feature that will allow players to control an avatar while their ship is docked at a space station, and according to Noah, it is still in development. "It has been a lot bigger undertaking that we had thought," he said.

That Doomsday change is serious  COSMOS looks interesting

WOW! They are really going the big Revamp with Expansion 11. Aren't some of these capital pilots going to feel a little ticked that these massive ships which took years to build will be able to now be destroyed by these small fighter bombers? COSMOS looks cool to say the least. I want that walking in Station Expansion.

Like everything in EVE, those small fighter bombers will be rather expensive for a good 3-6months after released

Apparently the WIS expac has been the EVE version of Duke Nukem Forever :o

Would you say its worth it to train up some Lazor skills in order to deal some EM damage?

Only if you're determined on it... I see why though (the problem with Gallente weaps is they only do kin/therm damage). Projectile weaps have very slow RoF guns, but can do all damage types, I'm not a fan of lazors myself since they are rather cap heavy :o

I personally trained up Projectile weaponry because they use no cap to fire, which means more cap for my Myrm's shield hardeners

Ill have to fiddle with EFT. Did u go Artillery or Autocannons?
Last time i checked Projectiles do crap dps. That having been said the Lazors already halfed my volley damage.

Ill play around in Eft. Other thing, i need to speed the Brute up. Its too dam slow. Chaced one of those l33t cruisers for almost 200km last night before i got him in range and blasted him into space dust. I have rails for those fskers who keep at 20km range. I have blasters for those who get closer. But have nothing that deals EM damage, except for my 4 infliltrator Drones. Think i should train up heavy Drones

Yeah its a problem. I went Artillery (which is meant for stationary targets :o)

Heres some info on ACs vs Blasters if your looking into it

what do u think its better?
my noob opinion

blasters: low optimal/low failoff/huge dmg(not usre)/best track speed/good RoF
autocannons: sucky optimal/high failoff/low dmg(possibly because of no cap needed)/2on best track speed/ same RoF as blaster

ur opinion plz

Autocannons have overall better range (that falloff counts) and can manage different damage types with different ammo (which blasters cannot).

Sauce - theres some more interesting info on this page

I found an extremely handy service offered for free ingame

Estel Arador Corp Services

For those who can't see the link, its a corporation that allows you to freely create Jump Clones at their 461 offices across the EVE universe (there are even a few 0.0 stations!), all you pay for is the Clone cost :)

I'll be testing this over the weekend and will provide feedback :)

EDIT: Helpful Jump Clone Guide

I just made a plan in Evemon to get all my basic Electronics, Mechanic, Engineering and Navigation Skills Up to level 5. If i start now ill be done on the 2nd of October Next Year.

Even with a what?
Neural Remapping

Cutting-edge neuroscience allows capsuleers to shift their natural strengths and weaknesses around between the five key cognitive areas. This technique is frequently used to facilitate a change in the direction of a capsuleer’s skill plan.

Rules concerning Neural Remapping

* Each new character will start with two free neural remaps as a virgin mind.
* You can use the neural remap feature again one year after you last used it.
* You can not have more than 15 base points in an attribute. This leads to a maximum score of 30 for any given attribute with maximum skills and the best implants available.
* You must have at least one assigned attribute point in each attribute.
* You can not save your neural remap request if you have not assigned all your attribute points.
* You can not assign less than 4 points to each attribute.

Accessing the Neural Remapping feature

If you have a neural remap available you can access it through the Remap Now button on your character sheet under Attributes.

(There are pictures on the link)

Lol, I was trying to sneak ingame a couple min ago to update my skill training
