They can be bought with 1000 gems, if i remember correctly.

You have the option to spend cash on the game for that :p or, accumulate enough gems to buy another builder :)

I have 4 builders currently, and have been saving up gems since last year October? I have about 1500 now just by saving :D

Also try to complete achievements, there are gems rewards for that.

The last builder costs a whopping 2000 gems! :( But 4 does actually well for TH8 or below.
 
I only have 3 builders, have not had the need for a 4th... just yet!

having another clan war tonight, so far 3 loss streak for our clan "Afrikaans braai" Lol, just having bad luck
 
The best way to get builder huts its by completing the challenges. I believe there about 6000 gems you can get total from the achievements. While 80% will come at much higher levels, there is still a good amount to be earned! You can also remove tree, logs, mushrooms and plants for gems. If you just save you can get a good amount of them!

Some more advice, there are whats called goblin wars, when you go to attack look to the right for goblin wars. Even though it will seem dumn, for ever map you three star you will get gems, and once you get to the last 10 levels the loot will go from something small like 15,000 each loot to 100k, 200k, up to 800k! I didnt attack at on on these goblin wars because I wanted to save up for something big, so I did it all at once and saved up 7,000,000 elixer and got lvl 4 pekka! Play the game smart and it will work for you! And that is what im here to do, help you play smart!

No, you don't get gems for every map you three star. You get gems for achievements you get when you get 10, 50 and 150 stars.

I can't decide if I like the game, I prefer games on my phone and tablet that gives more of an instant gratification. I am finding it a bit boring and slow

When you level up, the attacking gets better, Clans also make it more interesting. I enjoy attacking people and the wars
 
Saw my gym partner playing this game again the other day... almost wanted to get hooked again... but then I remembered ive been clean for over a Year now, and can't relapse !
 
I play Clash of clans but not on a daily basis were in a clan but we don't even war yet an i only now got my first dark elixir extractor the game is just too slow paced and if you don't spend money it takes you forever to get somewhere

At this point I just get clobbered so I cant even get the 50 stars for the first goblin war achievement. It takes too long. I prefer games with instant gratification.
