Ex-Diablo III tester (supposedly) discusses game, thinks it sucks

Meh, To be honest it just seems like a whole bunch of trolling mixed in with alot of guessing. Some of his point's have a little chance at being true. I mean a beta announcement at blizzcon? Anyone could have guessed that really...
 
Checked around. The 3-digit EID starting numbers he gave is indeed valid.

Still doesn't mean anything, just saying.

Either way, I've been rather skeptical of D3 for a while already.
Just seems way too much like a rehash with gfx revamp.
Not sure if this will hold my attention for very long.

If they really wanna impress me, outdo Titan Quest... Man I friggin LOVE that game!
 
I don`t believe it, maybe if he could name something specific like, revealing the name of an item, or the next class. There`s lots of people on 4chan seeking attention.

Instead he compares it to torchilight, which is kinda obvious looking at the gameplay footage.

TITAN QUEST

As for this Diablo III thing, I wouldn't worry too much. Diablo III will most probably be an exceptional game and it will be bought, played and loved by millions.

But my action RPG heart will always belong to Titan Quest and possibly it's lovechild, Grim Dawn.

I don't know. I thought the wait and the anticipation was way too much fro Starcraft II but having played it, it met my expectations and then some. I foresee the same thing happening with D3. Almost anything Blizzard touches seems to turn tog old anyway and I doubt D3 will be an exception.

I will go ahead and ask this question, based on the following one statement.

Statement: StarCraft 2 is mediocre at best.
Question: Can you prove me wrong?

The game itself is NOT amazing. There is nothing in StarCraft 2 that is actually new, or revolutionary, or awesome, or anything.
It is by its very design, no different to ANY other Strategy game out there.

The only reason the game is doing as well as it is, and the only reason you're still playing it = It's the koolaid.
Everybody plays it, and thus so do you.
You hate playing a game that doesn't have a large playerbase, and thus you just drag yourself (and your wallet) to where all the other sheep are.

Case-in-point: "Diablo2 is such an awesome top-down-RPG! Best EVER!!!"
Why?
What exactly makes D2 any better than Titan Quest?
If Iron Lore didn't go bankrupt, and continued patching and supporting TQ, it would have surpassed D2 by MILES.

The only reason Blizz has Midas-hands, is because people are sheep.

I personally did not really enjoy starcraft 2. It felt like most of the campaign was rushing you to finish as soon as possible.

Maybe the mp is good but I am not one for rush tactics and the such.

I felt the same way about the campaign. It feels as if the game is forcing you to finish a mission as quickly.as possible.

MP is the same, but more exaggerated. Games are decided within minutes.

I did finish the game and do play some mp once in a while, but it doesn't interest me as much.

The original thread died - looks like some actual Blizzard employees may have climbed aboard. Plus I haven't seen any new coverage about it either.

Looks like the initial disbelievers were right - he was just looking to cause trouble.

I beg to differ. This is not a case of fanboyism, I really did just enjoy the game. I have yet to play mp because I value my life (and getting my Masters) but having just played sp, I can tell you that I was blown away. There was an article on mygaming a while back speaking about how the story in games leaves a lot to be desired but I thought SC2 was the antithesis of this. The story was amazing. I was almost moved to tears and the ending of the game was superb. The attention to detail within the game was second to none.

I don't know how Blizzard does it, but I feel attached to characters like Jim Raynor and Sarah Kerrigan. That's not easy to do in an RTS.

I've played Titan Quest and thought it paled in comparison to D2. Yup, that's my opinion but it seems to be that of most. Once again, not just game mechanics, but the story of D2 really brought it to life.

As an aside, I enjoyed but didn't love Warcraft 3.
