Fallout 4

Does anyone else find that the game gets more buggy the further you progress? Got about 60 hours racked up and I'm experiencing some serious bugs. Textures seem to have taken a complete nosedive despite being set to Ultra, NPCs have massive pathfinding issues and when I switch weapons it sometimes takes up to 10 seconds for my new weapon to show up.

None of this happened to this extent early in the game. I'm thinking maybe savegame problems, like the PS3 had with Skyrim? Opening the save screen takes forever.

22 Hours into the game, and I'm glad to hear it's not just my imagination. I chalked the issues up to Xbox One performance, but I'm getting the exact same symptoms as you, with weapons taking a longer than usual time to load up after I switch to them, here and there a texture issue, and Dogmeat is running around like he just contracted rabies or something. All these issues are not severe yet for me, and they all go away after prolonged periods of play.....

Mine actually get worse the longer I play. Yesterday I left the game open for a couple of hours when I wasn't playing and when I came back Super Mutants started teleporting around while I was fighting them. I restarted the game and they didn't do it again.

I'm about 24 hours in and the only thing I've noticed that's different performance wise from the start is that it takes a little longer to load the game. That could also be a result of all the shit I have stashed at my house. [emoji14]

So what guns are you folks playing with? I've been playing with bolt-action and semi-automatic the entire game, but it seems automatic weapons are just completely OP. I was struggling against Legendary raiders with my maxed out Hunting Rifle and suddenly I've got an automatic 10mm that takes them out in about 5 bullets. Kinda disconcerting because I thought the bigger rifles would be the way to go. Oo

Haven't played long enough I reckon, barely gotten into modding (just last night I unlocked the ability to scrap screws etc from weapons and realised i can craft my OWN mods!) but the second I can I'm going fully modded pistol with suppressor. Stealth ftw!

I've been playing with non-automatic rifles and pistols as well. I've upgraded the rifle and pistol perk already to level 2 each, giving additional 40% damage to non-automatic rifles. So far I've not had any issue killing enemies, well, except those damn big-ass robot sentries. They are super viscous.

Currently I keep 4 main guns on me at all times: 10mm pistol fully upgraded and modded to the max, Pipe Revolver rifle maxed with mods as well, Sniper Rifle and Laser Rifle.

I decided to do things a little different than before, i went wild with the blacksmith perk and are now wielding one crazy ass modified sledgehammer . It feels like i'm playing Hexen or something, the hammer is so big it is blocking my view lol (and i take out super mutants in 2 hits...i just need to get to them first).

For range, i am using a modified 10mm heavy pistol simply because i usually have ammo for it. I also use that lazer musket (the one you wind up) when i'm in synth territory (again because of ammo).

I am also hardly using VATS , so i think i'm losing a ton of ammo (but i got a big hammer) . It just feels like i'm missing alot in VATS because my agility is ultra low. I can't shoot anything beyond short-mid range in VATS, i got very little points in agility and rifle accuracy type of things. It just feels better outside of VATS (on PC) and i swear i hit better, i use VATS when i can't see what is attacking me or they somehow got behind me or something...

I'm also totally abusing grenades like never before , those molotovs are crazy potent !

My companion is that silly robot you find in sanctuary, and that thing has a flame thrower and these saws which works pretty well with my melee situation. The dog is not quite working for me.....i only got 2 companions unlocked so far....way too much settlement building. At least the settlement building levels you up alot, i'm almost lvl 20 and haven't even entered diamond city...

I am playing the pc version and it is great but I seem to be having a texture problem. Some things look ok but when I get close to objects or npc it looks like there is no textures or shaders.I really like the lighting system but the the texture shader issue is baffling. Are you guys having this issue?

RPG options? If you are on PC , just make sure to move your mouse point down when you are in the Perks screen, i also thought "what the hell, where's all the skills" ? Until i saw it goes down quite a bit. I think it does looks misleading at first, but i'm now at that point where there;s too many skills i want and not enough points.

As for dialogue, i guess it depends how you play. If iyou did what i did, build the sanctuary settlement , build the 2nd settlement and doing the "minutemen" quests (which involves settlements) , then yea, you will be playing SimCity more than seeing anything RPG-like.

While i find the settlement thing interesting, i don't quite see the point yet. Why would i want more than 1 settlement and the hassle of keeping people happy all the time? I don't see any money out of all of this yet (looks like much later i can, but still, then i'm most likely done with the game).

I see the settlements more as a thing that modders will be making use of , not so much a thing in the single player campaign..well not from what i see so far. So at least i see alot of cool mods coming soon, since you can go pretty wild with building options without making a new map , implies alot of unique quests/adventures (buildings etc) can be modded into the game quite easily. I expect Bethesda to leverage this in their DLCs...

Anyway, dialogue does seem to come alot more once you reach Diamond City and those Brotherhood of Steel guys etc, so you might want to consider deviating from the settlement path a bit (if you are following that of course).

OVerall so far, it does feel like a Bethesda/Fallout game. I haven't seen anything revolutionary, if this came out a year after New Vegas i would be going "meh". Luckily i haven't played Fallout in years, so it feels refreshing, yet it feels all very familiar. I am having fun, and enjoying the freedom, so not complaining......although having to pick between Tomb Raider or Fallout 4 , i might have reconsidered TR had i known Fallout 4 would be this "familiar" .

Well there are many great perks, there apparently isn't a level cap so one could potentially get all of them, especially if there is the inevitable infinite EXP glitch. Character/class building is a key RPG element to me so it just seems a bit light on the RPG elements. The conversation options are getting a bit more interesting as I progress through the story.

The settlement building is quite fun. I need to find a nicer spot than Sanctuary to build "Fort Kickass".

I have it. How long have you been playing? I don't recall having it when I just started. It's like the game sometimes loads the lower quality textures instead of the rights ones.

I think I might have those texture issues as well. I was playing a story mission earlier and the main NPC I talked to looked like shit. I am playing with textures on medium but I can't imagine that it should look that bad.

I am 5 hours in level 7 the game can look good then 10 seconds later it looks real bad like ps2 textures. Its not my pc as I play nba2k16 and that looks unbelievably good.
Imy settlement got attacked by super mutants they just rolled in causing havoc lol.I have to build some defenses.
