You don't have to, I play it on a i5 4690K @ 4.6Ghz + R9 290X Lightning @1200 core and @1500 mem and it still stutters like a drunk shower head.

Personally I tend to set games to max play a bit, then switch it to custom and remove/change all the stuff that I didn't like. Motion blur etc.

That tends to end in a better end experience (both performance and visuals) for me than any of the presets. Obviously personal preference.

For MP games it makes sense to me to cut things way below what the box can do...somehow many games still have their handling characteristics/feel/fluidity affected on high settings even if the box is 10x overpowered for the game. :wtf:
 
I have to say, I am really sad to see the way PC gaming is heading.
With Ubisoft and Nvidia gimping the performance of AMD cards on both AC Unity and Far Cry 4. I can see this becoming the norm now and I actually expect AMD to do the exact same thing on future releases. I think anyone that enjoys pc gaming is starting to feel the same way.

I just do not get it both next gen consoles use AMD why the poor performance on pc I mean your pc should smoke this game.Developers should be ashamed at how they treat pc gamers.I can understand the performance of my ps4 running games at 30 fps as it is weak compared to decent gaming Pc's but this shit needs to stop.
 
So, keys to Kyrat seem to be a bit bugged. It keeps saying an error occured and I should try again later. Reading up around the net also revealed that most people have this problem.

I still can't believe the download was so huge, just for a 2hour trial.

I think it's the full game, as the trial isn't limited in functiobality, just time. You can opt to buy it directly from the menu, so I might just spend the money on it soon.

I got my Far Cry fix by finishing Jason Brody's story this afternoon. Now I'm actually amped for numero quattro even more!
 
Saw a bit of Far Cry 4 at a friends this weekend (PC) - looks amazing!

I'm amped but can't afford it right now - might just replay FC3 for a fix...

Just watched this video, and obviously being TB, it's on PC. Therefor running at 60fps compared to 30fps, which is how I'm playing this. That being said, after watching this video, the character animations sometimes looks like the video is sped up (or on fast forward). Thoughts?!
