Far Cry 4

Please tell me you'll get it on PS4?

This will be one directed at TheJoker.

Just watched this video, and obviously being TB, it's on PC. Therefor running at 60fps compared to 30fps, which is how I'm playing this. That being said, after watching this video, the character animations sometimes looks like the video is sped up (or on fast forward). Thoughts?!
Unfortunately not man. Getting it on PC. I have FC2 and 3 on PC as well.

Can you give a mm:ss example? It might just be the 60fps feature that youtube recently added. I'm still not used to it and sometimes videos do seem a bit... fast. Maybe it's that?

Hey bud

Why directed at me? Sorry can't watch the vid (Telkom fucking with my adsl).

Okay, just an update.

So when I started playing Far Cry4 I did see it for what it was - A huge expansion for Far Cry 3. However, with fanboism burning strong and long, I looked past it and appreciated the new content and general updates to the dynamics of the game. Trying to see it for more than it really was.

Only it started feeling repetitive and, dare I say it, boring. I decided that it was mixed emotions - like finding an ex-girlfriend in your bed without the possibility of anyone finding out. So I took a little FC4 vacation the weekend, staying away from gaming in general to ease back into it after I've cleared my thoughts.

Last night I gave it another bash, did my first Himalayan side-quests and I must admit that these quests are either a form of marketing trickery or just plain awesome. I had plenty fun last night, more than I even had on the first day I got FC4. This got me wondering why.

Still a little baffled like a kid who had a coin appear from behind his ear, I realised the bow doesn't have that atrocious range drop off like it did in FC3, I also realised I like using vehicles a lot more than I had in either of the previous games. However, I mostly enjoyed the fact that I got what I wanted when I had finished Far Cry 3, more Far Cry 3.

When I realised that I essentially enjoyed the universe and gameplay more than most other FPS's targeting the SP scene, it was clear that this was a great instance of "not fixing what ain't broke."

9/10

Just figured since you're on the 60fps train, and tend to know more and have more experience with this.

Obviously I can see a difference between watching it at 480p30fps and 720p60fps (even compared to my 30fps SP4 game). Just thought you might be interested in it, or be able to shed some light.

ok cool, will give it a watch when my net is sorted.

I really shouldn't have, but I couldn't resist any longer and got it on my Edgars account at CNA now.

Bought it with my uCount rewards, only played about 5min due to time constraints, so far it looks awesome graphically and seems to run well on ultra.

I have a Corsair H100i, and it comes with Corsair "summing" software, the name escapes my mind now....

In this software, you can set the curve for the Radiator fan speed and pump speed, as well as for my graphics card. I set the fans to full speed once the CPU reaches 50 degrees, and the graphics as well. So I have fans running at full speed from the second I start the game :D

While playing, I get around 50 degrees CPU (H100i FTW) and 70-75 GPU(MSI 7950 TwinFrozr3).

Been playing this game for a while now and ive come to the conclusion that the FC series has taken a tumble after FC2, why did they take away the jamming and degrading of the guns? It brought a mechanic that was never seen before in a game (that im aware of) and it was totally awesome. Now FC3/4 is just some generic open world FPS shooter.

Very disappointed with FC these days.

And also on a side note FC2 looks way more realistic than FC3/4, it could just be that the african scene didn't look so cartoony like FC4, do any agree?

I couldn't disagree more, FC4 is the best of the franchise hand down.
FC has never been able to hold my attention for more than a few hours and then I would be done with it. FC4 is compelling and keeps me entertained. The FC franchise is supposed to be fun without being too serious, and FC4 pulls this off beautifully. I am really torn between what to play, come game time, I am enjoying it immensely.

But, meh, each to their own eh.

So far I'm really enjoying this game, but doesn't doesn't feel like Farcry 4. More like Farcry 3.1 or a total conversion mod for Farcry 3. It's almost exactly the same just a different map :P Definitely not worth the full retail price, but I got it with the GPU so no complaints. About 10 hours in and still got plenty to do

Weapon degradation was fun, but it could lead to some pretty hairy and unforeseen circumstances. I enjoy its idea, but it'd become a bit old over time and started being more of a nuisance than anything else. I used to own a copy of it (still have the cover, but DVD is missing). Far Cry 3 moves back to its island routes, just much better looking.

Had many fun hours in FC2 though!

Far Cry 4 is definitely still on my list. I would not feel bad giving Ubisoft money for it.

Agreed, but I bought it on PS4 thus around R700 - but I don't think I've ever bought a FC game, maybe just on Steam special. But money well spent in terms of FC4.

Definitely worth the tin bra, at least in my opinion. Only reason I never bothered with PC was due to Uplay. But it's is well worth it, despite being a Ubisucks game.
