It's basically an app you can run on your PC that lets to connect to severs that host different channels, when you join said channel you can voice chat with everyone in that channel.

I could run it through my laptop then, while I play in the lounge... But then I'd need to buy a mic of sorts as I don't have one for PC.

What sort of mic would work?
 
Traditionally we prefer Push to Talk as the feedback from freestanding mics can get really annoying (i.e. every time someone moves or talks in the background, the mic goes off) I personally would just purchase an el cheapo pair of headphones with a mic. Btw, run only Team Speak 3 on your laptop or FFXIV? Anyone who can run FFXIV on their laptop deserves a Bells! :D

Nah he's playing on PS3 and needs to run voice comms through his laptop.


I've got some dates guys. The live letter is currently ongoing and the first details out of it has been open beta and early access dates.

So here they are:

Open Beta
17 - 19 August for anyone who hasn't participated in previous betas
16 - 19 August for those who have been in previous betas.

Early Access
This begins on the 24th of August

Open beta is going to be limited to a level 20 cap, but all main story cut-scenes are going to be fully voiced.

I can actually run FF14 on my laptop, scored just over 6k on the benchmark but I prefer PS3. I prefer lying down or sitting on my couch while I jam ;).

I would run coms through my laptop though, that'd probably be best for me.

What's a decent al'cheapo that will get the job done?

Shot for the dates dude! I was kinda hoping we'd have had P4 start this weekend :o. Meh, this wait is killing me!!
 
Yeah. I joined the Japanese Twitch live stream the minute they announced it on Twitter. All I can say is, I hope that the Xenophobic morons who were in the live stream chat are in a different zone to me ...
*Sigh* Was hoping for this weekend. Guess we'll just have to sit tight until the 16th. :(
 
After watching the live letter I'm probably gonna roll ARC. The Arcanist and Summoner look sick but it looks like they just support their creatures isntead of actually getting in on the action.

PC code? Are you talking about the Early Access code? The PS3 version needs a code so you can download the client from PSN, but AFAIK we don't need a code for PC again.

The official forum says that we can only start the update tomorrow... :(

Yea although I can't download it. My internet is fooked thanks to the rain.
 
Im just hoping that I can get the download from my brother. I have no internet at home currently until telkom comes to fix it. . .
