Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Hi guys.

I might be receiving my copy tomorrow or the day after. I'm thinking of rolling tank, but not sure if warrior or paladin.

For those of you who played gw2 with me, my name was Kopskoot, was in STI.

:D

Howsit Kopskoot! Long time no see! Remember to roll on Moogle so you can play with us. :)

It would be impossible to be 10 levels under certain gear, seeing as how the highest I've seen is level 90.

Highest character disciple lvl =50
Highest gear lvl = 90
Highest gear req lvl = 50

Disciple of the hand lvl required to repair gear = 10lvl's under REQUIRED level of gear.

This means that heavy armor at lvl90 with a requirement of lvl50 to wear means a lvl40 armorer will be able to repair it.

Take a look here:LVL90 gear with a lvl50 req
http://xivdb.com/?item/3266/Heavy-Allagan-Armor
Requires lvl40 armorer

LVL49 Gear with a lvl47 req
http://xivdb.com/?item/3212/Aetherial-Felt-Bliaud
Requires lvl37 Weaver

50-10=40
47-10=37

Get it?

I know that, but that is not the gear level. The 90 is. That is the required level to wear it.

Problem is I need to compare them to each other on 50. I like playing the Monk, but no point in playing them if they are utterly useless. It feels like I'm playing an Elementalist from gw2. It's a really underpowered class. It's not like I can even support people with it in any way. Oh sure, I can reduce the target's INT and blunt resistance. I'm pretty sure the mages will be ecstatic, when they finally run out Mana, that they can now run up to the boss and beat the boss for an additional 10% damage, seeing as how only Monks and casters' melee weapons do blunt damage. The only two classes I'd consider playing atm is the Dragoon and Bard. After switching to them to see whose skills look the most interesting and comparing damage, I noticed one thing: Monks are the only damage based class in the game that doesn't have a spell that has over 200 potency...

Monks may hit for less but they hit quicker there auto attacks are also a lot more potent than any other class and if you get it the right forms keep your buffs up and position yourself right your damage is on par with a dragoons ,,monks damage is not straight forward that's why they might seem weaker but they are not....they are fun to play but not for somebody lazy

also mages don't need help maintaining mana they are designed that they self sustain

Also I suggest chatting to rehab cause his evil with the monk

I never argued with that part. I don't even know why you explained it to me...

Because you didn't read my first post correctly.

So you need to be at least 10lvls's under the gears 'required' lvl,not 10lvl's under the level of the gear itself to repair it with the appropriate disciple of the hand.

Which you replied

I wasn't sure if you were supporting my comment or arguing against it.

I know how to play the monk, but they aren't faster than any class when you have to dodge attacks 24/7. As soon as you lose your greased lighting stacks, you're damage instantly goes down. If you can't attack the boss for 2-3 seconds you instantly lose all 3 stacks, taking a monk 3 rotations just to get your damage up again. In Ifrit HM I lose stacks as soon as he uses his charge, which he does constantly. Half the fight I just spend trying to max out my stacks again and then as soon as it hits 3 stacks he jumps away again, forcing me to start over.

To the peeps who've just purchased or intend to purchase the game: Moogle EU is unfortunately still temporarily locked, so you'll have to wait until the restriction has been lifted. :(

Just got my copy, 1gig left to DL.

Ah well, I'll be patient and wait for the server to open up again.

Does the guild have many tanks?

Do you guys need any more White Mages? If not then which classes are needed? Been playing as an archer on a US server but would be nice to play with some fellow South Africans for once.
