@ DC - I speak under correction, but I remember hearing you get more rested XP in an Inn than in a sanctuary


@Isengard - I dunno, that 2nd boss is a nightmare with low dps....but we did at least get it done. I now have 5 pieces of Darklight gear and really wanna grind AK...got a nice set of gloves from AK, so only need 3 pieces of DL really to complete gear setup. You also have a BLM don't you? I have been seriously looking a skill rotations and want to make a DPS macro....but I also found that sometimes I can cast flare 2-3 times in a short space of time in a short skill rotation, but seems to be very dependent on when you catch the GCD clock for the mana buff to kick in. If we can perfect that we will be walking nukes...

Read some really interesting info on BLM skill rotations that include Flare as well...gonna test it tonight. What skill rotation do you use on your BLM...also read something about using thunder 2 instead of thunder 3, do the 2 different levels stack?...eish..lots to test tonight. Do you use macros?

Dude, if you could help us with a few ifrit runs, that would be awsome...we keep getting close...but no cigar. I have wiped twice now when ifrit has about 2% HP left.

I currently have a lvl 55 weapon...same as one for relic quest. I would love to put some materia in and get ifrit done...is garuda after ifrit HM?

Haha, so where to start. :p

I do have a BLM yes This Guy.

As for rotations it depends on the situation, if we are fighting mobs and if I'm out aggroing the tank (this happens a lot in AK).

My standard setup is as follows.

Thunder II > Fire III > Fire I (until mana less than 1000) > Blizzard III > Repeat (if we are fighting mobs or it's health is fairly low I use Scathe instead of applying a Thunder dot). Now whenever Firestarter procs I use it and if Thundercloud procs I fire off a Thunder III instead of Thunder II (reason for this is Thunder III does way more damage on the proc than Thunder II, mine hits for 900 and crits over 1000). The only other time I ever hard cast Thunder III is if the tank is having a hard time with aggro so I will start rotation with Thunder III for the longer cast.

Now I find Flare pretty situational and never use it unless I have Raging Strikes available and I'm on Umbral Fire III. So what I normally save it for is adds like the bees on the Demon Wall or to finish off a boss. In this case I Fire I until I'm low on Mana then I Raging Strikes > Swift Cast > Flare > Transpose. With that combo I've gotten 1700+ crits on bosses, finishing them off nicely, also handy for those bees if there is no LB available.

Gimme a shout for the Ifrit runs, if I'm not in a dungeon then I'll gladly come along and yes Garuda is after Ifrit, I'm gonna have to learn the fight starting tonight. :)

You pretty much summed up exactly what I read about skill rotations, and its pretty much the same I use :) But do you use transpose or convert? Thats one of the things I wanna test tonight...how long it takes for mana to return. I keep some mana pots for those "OH shit" moments. Another thing I read was if there are more than one mobs to cast thunder on as many as possible, makes it proc a lot more... My highest crit has also been about 1700...that I can remember. I wanna put some crit materia into my scepter...

I really wanna get my Ifrit Weapon, and desperately need to complete AK so I can continue with relic weapon quest and Unlock Company hunting log 3.

So feel free to gimme a shout if you run AK or ifrit if you have space.

PS : Where did you get that shield dude!

I only use Convert if I screwed up and ran out of mana for some reason (unable to cast Blizzard). I don't feel that the cast time it takes to multi-dot mobs is worth it for the potential burst damage.

I don't run Ifrit any more since I don't need to so I will join if the Guild Needs some DPS, but if I am going to run AK solo and I see you are online I will give you a shout before I queue.

I got the shield from Wanderers Palace. :)

Was wondering...cause its darklight. Damn need to run wanderers some more.

Im considering making a mouse over macro for our teleport skill, also for those oh shit moments, when u are in middle of a large AOE and know u not gonna get out of it...have actually never ever used it yet.. :D

Ok, so still trying to get mouse over part of macro to work, but it seems to be well worth having this up for boss fights...that teleport can really save your bacon as a caster!

Ok, got a run from WP in last night....smeared the dungeon...was actually fun...got some gear and a pet :) Also got a mat from there last night, "Bloody Grimoire of Binding" that sold within minutes for 18.5k, I think its a mat for crafting a relic weapon. Seems maybe worth running WP from time to time for possible cash drop...

Also Wiped the floor in AK last night, killed Demonwall in 3 min...also easy and fun dungeon. Now I need Hydra for relic weapon quest, and am geared for Garuda HM as well.... so please pop me inv when u guys make groups :D Desperately need a new weapon now...

Thanks for the tips on rotation (Isengard)...my dps has gone through the roof now.....also found when pulling grp of 3 + mobs its definately worth the time to quickly pop a lightning II on each mob before going back to main target....the lightning proc pop OFTEN...at some stages I was throwing 2-3 lightning procs after one another :D

Still need that damn shield though from WP.... :D
 
Grats Bane, my luck was horrible last night. We failed on the last boss in WP. I will do some more castrum runs so I can farm up for the chest piece or wrist.


On a side note - My account says I pay in Euro's - That works out to R177 per month. . . So I will rather get a timecard from takealot for R300

Managed to get to lvl 26 on my Conj before work work today. So will hopefully hit 30 on it tonight.
 
I got to 14 and half last night :|

Will be 15 tonight and Class quest waiting. Looking forward to seeing how the dungeon system works (deja vu?)

Anyone keen on checking it out with me, will probably have my boet in law with me.

yeah your gear is fine for ifrit. You don't really need that much for him tbh.

Frudi and I pugged it the second we completed the story, so yes you will most definitely be fine.

Also, word of advice, you get a lot more value from buying DL armour pieces than trinkets. Leave the trinkets for last.

Bah should have gotten that advice before I got the trinks :P Did get the belt so long though, will do more Castrum runs over the weekend. Only need 34 runs to get the full gear set now.
