Some news on the free expansion to the superb indie FTL. They've posted some details on the new features which look like they'll create some new interesting gameplay:

Systems and Subsystems: Clone Bay, Hacking, Mind Control and a Backup Battery.

Also some minor visual tweaks and Hard mode for the masochistic.

Ag let them take their time really looking forward to this update still have not been able to finish the game haha.
 
Was looking forward to this. Then I forgot about it. Now you've reminded me of it. The worst thing is that it's got no set date for release.

Make time ASAP. Remember though that it's going to take a bit of getting used to initially (less than Banished I will admit) but once you get hooked you're not going to be able to stop. Then again I guess you may as well wait for the Advanced Edition before you play anyway (we just have too much to work through these days - oh yeah and work itself of course).

I know the feeling. It's a pain - but it (well maybe only for me) is inevitable. The death bits without being able to go back do suck a bit (I'll admit - I cheat a bit there with a helper I wrote a while ago for Don't Starve) however actually playing it through with the random bits and pieces does make it an awesome game.

I still have to play it. Every time I see at Steamgifts I get excited then realise I already have it. But I will get to it soon.
