Morrowind.
Definitely for its time, it was way better than Oblivion.
Morrowind.
"To The Moon" had me amazed at how 8-bit characters can convey so much emotional depth by just a few pixels being manipulated. I think I tjanked more than I did with "Walking Dead".
But the winner "Half-Life" and meeting this little darling:

First you heard it as you approached.
Than you tried killing it and failed.
And then finally figuring out that it reacts to sound and vibration.
For me, the stand-out part of a stand-out game.
Oh man, nostalgia! when the hell is HL3 coming out??? Gabe sure is taking his time![]()
Even embarrassment?
Very rarely feel embarrassed. But, yes - some embarassment, perhaps.
You read too strongly into my post.
Slightly back to the original topic. Mirror's Edge amazed me to have existed. I enjoyed it, but it literally made my flatmate throw up. I mean, what were they thinking? Was it only being play-tested by gymnasts and fighter pilots who dabbled in parkour?
That's why they had the blue dot in the middle of the screen. Their research showed that it reduced the motion sickness symptoms.
I used to struggle with motion sickness as a kid, so I learnt all those tricks to curb it and therefore did that instinctively, but I can guarantee you that wasn't the case with everyone![]()
Lol...yeah it felt awkward in the beginning however the actual combat sequences made me sicker than that...if they eventually do bring out a Mass Effect 2 (well they're working on it right?) then I just hope they improve the combat. That's why they had the blue dot in the middle of the screen. Yeah baby - having re-played HL2 and it's episodes recently I'd settle for a new Portal game at this point but sadly I think they have just a bit too much on their plates at the moment to really care about Half Life however I'd love to be proven wrong.Oh man, nostalgia! when the hell is HL3 coming out??? Half life 1. That game really sucked me in.
Vampire masquerade. Bouncing boobs, great sound track fun missions and side quests. Great horror references and the water looked great![]()

Haha I was only kidding. I would be pretty impressed if a game could Embarrass you though.

For me it has to be Baldur's Gate. The size of that game back in the day was epic. The story was brilliant. Everything was awesome. Even that packaging of the game was awesome. It was a game that released on 5 CD's and 1 CD for the expansion. Come on!
Also not forgetting about Wing Commander 4, the 6 CD behemoth with FMV QTE enabled cut scenes that ran on Ms-DOS
It was a beauty to behold in it's day (Considering that it ran on a 486 processor and needed 16MB of RAM to run)
Some screenshots of this beauty
