Can anyone tell me why you shouldn't defrag a ssd?

For one it shortens the lifespan and it's not needed.

I also recently switched to SSD and there is actually a whole list of things you should disable that could decrease the lifespan of you SSD.

Can have a look at the list i followed here:
This is a nice guide for migrating windows without have to re-install and worked well for me.

Cool, I'd be looking at that one next due to R300 increase on the force gt.

I see that when you disable write cache you get faster writing speeds. Just switched over into sata3 and happily getting the promised speeds from the force GT

Thats a good question, looking at the prices vs size some of the guys mention here, i would hope the lifespan of a drive would be like a normal drive before i fork out the cash. Have any of you guys here had problems with a SSD yet? Whats the warranty like?
