I never said anything about the HD9000 range

But if they're going to be announcing new GPUs this month, it'll be an announcement, followed by a paper launch with limited stock and then general availability a month or two later. That's what it was like for the HD5000 and HD7000 series.
I could even be wrong about the timeframe and AMD could have stockpiled chips for everyone to buy, but in my opinion that would be silly. They'd essentially be competing for attention with their own hardware in the new consoles and given that the console market is bigger right now, people are more likely to buy that than a new GPU upgrade at this time.
Also, prepare yourself for an even longer dry spell. If anyone thought that two years between a new generation of GPUs was long, the next one could be even longer.
