Guild Wars 2

Ever since ArenaNet announced that you can join more than one guild I have been struggling with exactly how many guilds I will be joining. I think there will be a lot of people who would like to have their own guild and I’m expecting quite a few guilds that end up with only the owner as member or with members that will never represent those guilds.

In most MMO’s the game is usually split between two opposing factions and these opposing factions face off against each other in various ways. One faction might get the upper hand and win for months on end or just totally overwhelm the other faction through sheer numbers.

In Guild Wars 2 however, the game is split between 3 factions all working toward the same goal, the defeat of the Elder Dragons. Each of these factions has their own unique vision of how to defeat the Elder Dragons and work accordingly to complete those goals.

My name is Chris Whiteside, and I’m the lead producer of Guild Wars 2. Normally, I’m head-down in the trenches, making sure we’re producing the best MMO possible, but I wanted to come up for air and share some exciting news with you:

Beta Weekend Event 2 will begin on Friday, June 8th, at noon PDT (GMT-7) and will run until Sunday, June 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7).
 
Our characters won't be deleted and we'll have access to the explorable mode of Ascalon Catacombs.

They also had a look at some of the issues from the stress test. These include party movement into overflow servers, chat functionality, key bindings, server stability, performance, and many more that we will detail in the near future.
