Yeah, we were getting DC'd and lag spikes like Shadowfox mentioned. Not sure what they did but it wasn't as smooth as the last BWE that's for sure.

The worst part was that Queensdale was like a black-hole - I couldn't travel out. If I tried using waypoints - I'd sit at a loading screen for about 2 minutes and then load right back where I was at the start. So in desperation I ran all the way to the Queensdale/Kessex border - same result ... teleported me all the way back. So I was bummed :p

I've got this vague feeling ANet was putting the servers under additional load in order to see how much they could take before things became unplayable. At one point my lag was so bad that I clicked a skill, got killed, respawned, ran back to the fight (the bridge between Shaemoor and Queensdale) and when I got there my skill activated (15 seconds - give or take one or two).

My afterlife-revenge skill, apparently :D

The mods on the forums were squashing any lag-mentioning - not locking threads - outright deleting them.

I'm not going to complain though - if massive problems are going to occur, I'd prefer it to happen now.

Wild speculation incoming though - I'm not sure if ANet are planning Public Open Betas - but if they are, I suspect BWE4 will be it, making BWE3 the last Closed Public Event. I don't see more than two more BWEs from this point onwards. That's my take in any case. We'll see how close I am.
 
I was right!! In August :P

So if it's launching on the Tuesday 28th August.. those who pre-purchased should then be able to start on Saterday the 25th?

:D you were indeed close-ish; with BWE4 being open ! wd ! :p k Im going a bit crazy now :/

Guess the core test players testing will also end soon, so I wonder if the NDA Stands? I may know a few people that helped play test "whistling:
