Guild Wars 2

I'll probably create my Sylvari straight off on head-start to try and reserve my name - then settle down on my human until I have her established :)
 
Wanna see some Asura gameplay? Oh and lot's of new info like the new "Vista" mechanic that they added. :D


I found it very entertaining, the Asura really are quite hilarious. :)
 
So I see that curse have a massive US and EU BETA key give-away competition.. When I try access it from SA, naturally it just says “YOU ARE NOT FROM US/EU. GTFO”. Which means no can do :/

I am in two minds about pre-purchasing unfortunately. The game looks SO good, but considering the last few titles I have picked up, I really can't be sure until I get my hands dirty. I know GW2 is looking to be the mythical unicorn of MMO's, but look at the past 5 MMO's as an example .. they all looked great. Sure, they didn't have as much hype as GW2, but they all had “different from WoW” factors.

MyG overlords, do you think MyG will have a BETA key give-away somehow before the last BWE?

Except we are not hyped by "it looks good", we are hyped because we played it and we know it's good.

I know.. Which is why I want to get hyped by how it plays, and not by how it looks :p
And the only way to do that without pre-purchasing is to win a key.. Not that I ever win anything, but a slim chance is better than no chance.
 
Its a solid game Phatso...as with all things not perfect, but it is a lot of fun. After the disappointment of diablo3 (for me), im just looking forward to gw2 more and more.

Its well worth the buy, and one of the most fun mmo's i've played in many years :)

Cant wait for the next beta weekend...going to be recording ALL my gameplay. Hoping it will help me survive the terrible month between the beta and launch :p

Not unless you know a core beta tester, and sit and watch him play the game... cause he wont let me :(
 
FNB need to move their asses with this credit card delivery! If I order the PC this week or early next week I'm going to be cutting it VERY close before the beta. Would still need to download it as well :/ Eek!

Can anyone offer insight into whether I could download it on another PC so long then copy it over to my new PC? Like one can copy the Guild Wars 1 .dat file.

You can simply copy the folder, no registries or installations to worry about.
 
Want a key, but darn, cash flow is stuffed :( , maybe I don't want a key, otherwise cash flow might get even more stuffed ... , if I get a key, then I will not be able to not buy the game. AAARGH!!!!!
 
If I am not mistaken (reddit info), you can download all the BWE client files (which will only be added to for release) before actually having a beta key?

Can anyone verify this?

Thanks! I'll take my laptop home from work then and get downloading :P

Pity there's no way of downloading it to my Mac then copying it over to my PC, but oh well.

Yes, if you can find the launcher then you can run it and it will download the game files without needing to log in.

You could run a virtual machine with a windows OS on your mac and get it that way, but it's such a fuss to get setup that you'd probably be better off going with the laptop.

Yeah it'll just be easier to stick my laptop in my bag and bring it home :D Thanks!

One more question: any idea how big I can expect the full download to be?

Just got my new Master Card debit card, so I am sorted for GW2's Cash shop for char slots :D
Yes you can just like GW1 just copy the .dat file and .exe run the exe it should do a little update and you have the game.

It's currently at around 16GB, but expect it to grow significantly for the next BWE. My guess is it's going to end up at around 20GB.
