Guild Wars 2

That defeats the whole purpose of exploring (but yes ill agree the human land is ALOT of running, went there with my Asura for a story instance my goodness 30 minutes of running)

Ive explored Metrica Province, Rata Sum (asura land) and Brisbane Wildlaands 100% so far 11% world map completed lol.

Yeah plenty of running, Divine Reach, Queensdale and Kessler hills are explored, somehow I am missing the one skill point ffs..... Dunno where the hell I missed it and to run around another hour for that seems pointless to me.

Just started playing the game and it is indeed amazing. Didnt think it would run on high with shadows medium on my 6850 oc edition, runs at 61fps !!!! Also, a very smooth login for the 1day head start! How does one check ping in game though? Game feels insanely responsive but would be nice to check...

I don't think there's any way to check in-game at the moment - your best bet would be to check your Resource Monitor - it'll give you the ping to the server. I didn't bother checking myself, but the game felt quite responsive, so I'm going to guess it was sitting in the mid-300's for the most part.

Watch out guys and gals. If you get reported 3 times by other players, you will get a 72 hour ban.

Crafting is AWESOME, got to level 75 in jewel crafting. The stuff you can make. . . Its beautiful!!!!

Why would we do something silly to get ourselves reporter? :p

Client wants me to validate my e-mail, but when I click on the link....

Exactly the same was just going to ask them now on twitter. And found the answer.

If you're having trouble verifying your email address, you can play without verifying your email address by clicking "Play" on the Guild Wars 2 Launcher if you already downloaded the client. We're working to fix email verification, and you can verify your address once we do.

ArenaNet's been very strict with regards to enforcing their policies - especially when it comes to character and guild names. And I've got a very nasty feeling there are a couple of trolls running around reporting people at random (because some of the bans aren't really making sense).

The game might be more accessible now (that was the goal after all) but this also means more opportunity for undesirable elements to enter the game.

Code:
/report shadowfox -r why not

:p

Yeah it will blow if one of us gets randomized.

http://gw2cartographers.com

In the options menu under video shows u your FPS there

Fraps would be best bet for real time FPS info plus u get the added bonus of on the fly screenies and video capture.

For finding points of interest and stuff, Caboose's map is better. the one i linked though has a lot of the dynamic events listed as stars, which cabbys doesnt

edit:
Oh and the link of mine also has things like instance and dungeon entrances listed

Well, so begins the tale of another shitty release.
Why can't these devs just ever get it right anymore? It's always the same garbage too... "We didn't expect such a rush!".

I hope all this is sorted by Monday/Tuesday...

I agree with you, but to be fair ArenaNet don't have a history of shitty released. GW1's releases was pretty much smooth going, and since then basically all of their releases have been stable, near bug-free and of a high quality. To this day I've experienced a whole 3 bugs in GW1. Guild Wars 2 is their first release that I have experience with that has been a little choppy.

There is no excuse, but by the same token ANet haven't attempted to make any either. They've admitted that there are issues, apologised, kept the playerbase updated and pulled all-nighters in order to punch out major issues. This is their first "proper" MMO release and it had such massive hype that I think it was even hard for them to predict the scale of what was coming their way. You can use sales figures to judge the maximum number of people that could attempt to log in at once, but there's absolutely no means of predicting how many times each of those people are going to spam the "Log In" button if it doesn't work the first time.

Unfortunately I think that this is the age old case of the game being released too early. ANet have always been of the "we'll release it when it's ready" mindset, but I would think that NCsoft would have been placing quite some pressure on them to commit to a release date, and once they committed they didn't have much choice but to rush like mad people and attempt to get it ready. That - at least - is judging by what is clearly a lot of passion they've poured into the game. Whilst the issues suck, they're honestly non-issues to me as a pre-purchaser because I'm simply so happy that it's finally here. I doubt that the remaining issues haven't been fixed out of laziness or a lack of will.

All in all this has been a learning experience for them, and the only way to learn is to make mistakes. I'm not about to grab my pitchfork and go after a largely reliable company that has designed a beautiful game because they made a mistake. They haven't been cocky about it and attempt to lay blame on anyone else but themselves.

I can't believe I survived that lol! Had I been anything but an Elementalist I might not have and I defeated all of them nearly on my own. :P

Edit: I see there's a bug with my outfit colour, mine has been green today, not purple anymore... :/

Yar that is pretty amazing, I was watching on twitter and fb when the game was released on sat - and 80% of the people where supportive! I was amazed!

It's good to see so many people not take the issues so seriously. How many MMO's have launched with zero issues?
