What they obviously did was enter my account name/email and click on the "Lost your password" link - in which case an e-mail goes to the address with a link that needs to be clicked to reset the account password. And I double-checked - the e-mail was legit, wasn't a link going to some random domain looking like GW2.

That being said - I figured I'd play it safe and log in manually and change my password anyways.

Ye good idea, It was a huge problem in D3... So I used the Authenticator
 
Anyone getting a bit of a delay on EU servers? Just feels like theres a slight 0.5 second delay or something.. More than usual anyway. /wince

Mine too. 3 times :/ And a whole bunch of other people it seems.

The theory is that people are attempting to gain access to accounts using the email addresses stolen during hacks on the likes of SOE etc.

Game is pretty awesome so far, but only bloody lvl 11 so far due to work hours. And have the 'can't represent guild' bug. Other than that, loving me stupidly tall norn warrior :p

Jesus... people be flying through the content at one hell of a rate O_o well played though dude, looking forward to taking on that big nasty beastie :P

and on a side note, the password reset mails are scams, if you need to reset your password, reset it via the proper guild wars site and not via the link in the mail

Not all of them are - the reset e-mails I got were 100% legit - I checked the links as well as the e-mail headers and I can confirm they came from ANet. There's some social engineering and brute force tactics going on - I suspect information from old hacks are being used in an attempt to get access to accounts.
