Guild Wars 2

What do you think about daily's?

Yesterday I did them but I think it's rather silly TBH.

For the reviving people one, I ended up teaming up with someone and then we would each take turns to die and revive each other.
There is no other way I see myself achieving this without this method, and it's not fun at all.

Do you do daily's because I am considering just ignoring them, they are a drag.

I love the dailies, personally - and the healing one isn't that hard to achieve - there are quite a few spots where there are downed NPCs all over the place (Queensdale Hunting Cabin near the logging operation for one). And what I generally do is that I'll heal an NPC halfway, and stop if I see someone coming and let them finish it, because that way we both get the revive.

And a lot of events will result in at least one or two people being knocked out.

I believe it's a big step up from the old system where we had the same 5 dailies every day, and they're going to add an update in Feb which will allow you to pretty much choose your dailies ... as in, they'll give you a list of 8 or 9 and you complete 5 to get the achievement, or something like that. And the laurels you earn will come in handy later (although I've been wasting mine on dyes for the most part :p )

Bonus points for completing all 8/9? :D

Ohk I didn't know there was an old system... I thought you had to revive other players!

That makes it A LOT easier.

Guys where would you recommend reading up on the items found. I find all these items and I just click 'sell junk' and about half of them go away, is this the correct way?

The rest I usually end up selling, because I'm not too clued up about crafting.

The "Sell Junk" button sells any and all useless crap that you can't do anything with, and can earn you a few coins, so keep doing that. It won't get rid of anything you need down the line.

Anything else that's left can be divided into, gear/items, crafting mats, and salvageable items. The first is self-explanatory, use it if you can, sell or salvage it if you can't. Crafting mats you can sell, or you can send it to storage - at the top right of your inventory screen is a little gear icon, click on that, and in the dropdown click "Deposit Crafting Materials" or something, and all crafting materials get dumped into a special panel in your storage. I'd recommend doing that in case you feel like picking up crafting later. And it doesn't take up space.

The salvagable materials will be things like scraps of cloth, or bits of metal - you use salvage kits (which you can buy from any general merchant) and break them into crafting mats, which you can do the same with as above.

There's another category of items called "Trophies" - they are yellow generally, and you'll need them down the line if you are in the mood to craft yourself a legendary weapon, and you need A LOT, so keeping them is a good idea. There are also white trophy items, or quest items, and these are usually associated with a dynamic event, so if you can't sell it or salvage it, destroy it.

That's it, pretty much.

Just a small correction :) you dont always need a lot of "yellow trophy" items to craft something.

Melandru's Gaze, only requires 1 Giant eye to make, where Wall of the mists requires 30, and finally Immubulus requires 250!

Yeah ... I was generalising a bit - it's better to hoard the stuff you don't need and sell them off later than get caught short because you do need something.

Looks like they tinkered with the drops a bit. After the previous patch I would get high-level drops (76 -80) regardless of which area I was in; now, if I run around Queensdale, I still get those, but I've been getting area level related drops as well.

Which is fine by me, because it helps me equip my alts a little more easily :)

Hey, can you recommend an easy to play profession that is ranged that doesn't use a lot of aoe/complex skills.

I'm currently using an elementalist but I wan't to play something with a bit more 'oomph' that isn't complex, but I don't like the melee mechanic in GW2

You definitely cannot go wrong with a ranger. Literally, target mob press 1 and things die. Sure there is more complexity if you want it, but it is a nice and relaxing class to play in GW2.

Tried a new build out tonight on my warrior and have to say.. its awesome :D

I went for the more DPS style than my previous tank build and things just die alot quicker. I can see now why warriors in WvW love their GS so much

Yeah it is fun since you can go all tank build and then back it off till you get a good mix of being able to take a hit and also giving a hit. I will probably join again after I am done with deadspace3.

I'm regretting starting to play this game because I fear I might become addicted.

I have FOMO because I'm only playing humans though.

Interview here regarding the upcoming changes in the February patch. Dunno about you guys, but I'm getting a little bit excited ;)

Especially the guild stuff. Start hoarding the influence :p

Yeah I'm also quite excited about the guild stuff, just hope it's not in vain. They sPvP might be cool as well, seeing as you can now do tournaments with two teams. We can make two teams in the guild and beat the shit out of each other :D
