Guild Wars 2

Might be in luck, my guild is coming to the rescue again :D

One of them got dawn. Might be willing to sell it to me at a discount. So my grinderdary might be done this weekend :)

Hope it works as good as they are advertising it to be ...

Busy lvl'ing a second Mesmer - already lvl 74, going to use it to test builds other than my main Rabid build.

What is the daily AP cap, and how does it work ...

Mesmer reached lvl 80 this morning, going for a PU type build based on Knights armour ...

They are combining the daily and monthly cap into one 15k if i read correctly in one of the forum posts

How do you guys find the time to play and grind away at Guild Wars 2? I used to play a lot in the beginning but once I got my main character up to level 70 ... I started finding the grind of doing the "dailys" such a chore that I eventually lost interest.

I guess it might have been better if I was part of an active Guild ... but my work sometimes prevents me from being able to commit to a Guild. Sucks.

Guilds are generally pretty flexible, and as long as you don't ask to join, then 3 days later you are repping another guild and 2 days later a third.

You might not get high status in the Guild, if you are an occasional player, but they tend to support their members and help out here and there.

You don't need to be part of a large guild to enjoy the game. I find it best to play with a close group of friends and you form your own little guild to explore the world with and complete events etc.

Also use Skype, TeamSpeak, or whatever other voice chat software you prefer and liven the game up with some banter between friends.

Great game, but not meant to play it alone imho.

A small guild of friends is worlds better than a gigantic guild with tons of strangers in my experience

Your daily achievement points cap was set at 10k, your monthly at 5k. Once you reached those, you could still do the achievements, but you wouldn't get any more achievement points.

As Tank said, with the new system they are being combined into a pool of 15k - while we will be getting the new daily system next week Tuesday, the monthly will stay as is until January. I like this, because I still have a fair bit to go before I hit my monthly cap :)

Problem being - with a small guild its more likely that things will die because people lose interest. I'm literally the sole active member of STI, and while I'll hook up with someone on my friends-list from time to time, I'm on my own most of the time. It doesn't bother me that much, but it does make getting into dungeons and fractals a pain, because I'm not a huge fan of PUGs.

I'm toying with the idea of clearing STI's roster and pulling in a small group of core players who are still online regularly, but the only thing stopping me right now is that I'm not really prepared for the hassle of managing people.

Well, if you don't make a few friends after joining a big guild, I would think you have only yourself to blame.

My experience with guilds is that the bigger ones have groups of interlocking friends ...

It's really not so bad playing alone though - it suits my playstyle, to be honest. I don't have to match time-tables with other people, and the beauty of GW2 that no other MMO has managed to match for me is the ability to participate and receive event rewards despite not operating as a group.

Yes, you can participate, as much or as little as you want, when you want ... , and there are no penalties for doing so. Even if you are a member of a Guild. Myself for example, have taken part in very few Guild activities the last 3 weeks, because i was levelling my Mesmer ... , no issues ...

I actually enjoy soloing the game. I love levelling my characters and participating in random PvP matches with absolute strangers. I have only ever done 3 dungeons and 1 round fractals, so I can definitely experience more on that side.

Doing PvE in a group kinda sucks for me, because everyone has their own agenda and different tasks to complete. So it becomes a chore to sync interest on a map. I only find it useful for taking on champions and level bosses.
