Guild Wars 2

We are looking for people who might be interested in writing for the Guild Wars 2 SA community website.

We have a few people who write on the regular, but we need some more people. We aren't looking for qualified authors who have written best sellers (but if you have awesome), we are looking for Guild Wars players to write about their experiences, thoughts, random musings, fan fiction, gameplay experiences, walkthroughs, playthroughs, etc.

It is all to build the community and have a regular source of fresh content for the website.

I never played Guild Wars, looks interesting, but between LoL, Star Wars, Diablo 3, My 2 Kids and the Wife where on earth would I find the time...sigh.

Will it be worth the forfeiture of sleep?

While im very keen for the next BWE... if they still have the game CPU bound i probably wont play it. The jitter and lag at some points really grates me... sure the game is still in beta, but i dont have 2 graphics cards for nothing.

I only had frame rate problems when there were A LOT of players in one area spamming AOE attacks. I would also like it if they got the 3D card to take some of the workload from the CPU soon but for some reason I don't think we will be seeing any PC performance gains in the next beta event.

We will probably only bee seeing optimization in the final 2 betas, whenever that may be.

Kind of inclined to agree with your assessment there :)

Apart from a couple of fights in WvW, my system was chugging along pretty nicely - so I'm pretty keen to see what it looks like once they shift some of the workload to gfx-cards.

I really do think ArenaNet is saving the best for last.

Reading that makes sense so ill agree... but the main reason other than jitter and FPS drops is that im currently running an AMD quad core on stock cooling (Waiting for my liquid cooling system to arrive) and that damn cooler makes such an effing racket when it spins up... and guild wars being CPU bound makes my core heat up like a mofo, so the fan has a field day and i go out of my mind... yet i play BF3 on max and the machine stays quiet.
 
Talks going around that the next bwe will be on a completely new client, 13 odd GB to download. Eish, will be missing this event too then since they only announce/release these things on the Wednesday before it.

Unless Telkom really is going to upgrade all 384kb lines to 1mb on 1 June (and next bwe is the 8th :P)

If it is a totally new client, hopefully it's to add GFX support.

Where did you get the info that next BWE is 8th? Link please!
 
They've updated the Account management - link to the official client is now live :)

Hmmm ... I wonder then if this is the client for the next BWE? I haven't gotten any updates from running my current client.

Will you update on the size of the download when you have an idea?
 
A new article available on our website, written by Pepper Spray.

Ever since ArenaNet announced that you can join more than one guild I have been struggling with exactly how many guilds I will be joining. I think there will be a lot of people who would like to have their own guild and I’m expecting quite a few guilds that end up with only the owner as member or with members that will never represent those guilds.

Even though you can be in more than 1 guild, you can represent only one guild at a time, so you will receive benefits/boosts of only the guilds you representing.
