Guild Wars 2

Its weird, I had one skill point bug and that was it for the whole weekend. Otherwise, did a fair bit of the Sylvari quest line, have made up my mind I will be playing Asura rather. Since I played that as well and got to lev 11, their story line is fun and funny and it felt more difficult than the Sylvari quests. Overall I cannot wait for this to be released.

After i saw that /laugh on the asura caused them to literally ROFL... i was sold :D
Played around a lot with the elementalist class and now im not sure what i want to play more... my Charr engi or Asura elementalist :D I didnt dabble into the quest line so much as im saving that for release, but i played WvWvW till my eyes nearly bled and i must say, yesterday afternoon Lakeside was kicking a$$! we owned just about the entire eternal battleground :p so my server choice is going to stay with lakeside

Not like you have a choice Panthis :P

pantis - I agree but I had to do the Q line just to see it! I discovered Felicia Day as Zojja!!! It was what made my day!

The whole area and city and and and :P Its just brilliant :D They have so many smart ass comments!

I'm quite surprised reading about these performance issues. I only encountered one bug the entire weekend and that was the gates in Borderlands "making" sounds as if people were attacking them when they weren't being attack. Otherwise my only frustration was 3 or 4 bad lag spikes in huge WvWvW battles, but those only lasted for 5-10 minutes at most (bar one). I was quite impressed with how polished the game seemed, and had no graphical slowdown in the least despite huge groups of people firing off spells left, right and centre.

And omg that combat! :D I had to tear myself away from my PC last night thanks to work today. We were in the midst of a massive attack on a keep in the Seafarers Borderlands...was insane setting up catapaults and trebuchets on the surrounding hills and bombing the keep. So much of awesome.

But anyway, hopefully they can address what needs to be fixed come launch! :)

Played the Beta weekend and it saddens me to say that imo ppl are fooling themselves if they things this is going to be an insanely awesome game. It feels very very BETA with only a month to go.

Was really hoping for the best but tbh I'll rather go back and play WOW (after quitting for a year) than spending time with this. Not what I was hoping to say, but its my honest opinion :(

Going out on a leg here. I know 2 core testers, the beta client we use is old, very old the core client has up to 4 updates a day with 1000s of files, and trust me the devs are working on everything.

I also hate that people think it will replace wow. It wont. Ever. Wow is wow and Gw is Gw.

Have To agree ... cant compare WoW to GW2 ... totally different game designs and concepts...

As for LC ... we were Owning at the end ... guess every1 was just trying out the classes in the beginning

You can't compare this game to wow, cause wow is dull, boring, unbalanced, a total grind fest with a poor story line, lame pvp and cookie cutter builds. Nothing like guild wars. This game far exceeded my expectations, and for beta it was pretty impressive. I had one or two lag spikes, but I can honestly say I didn't encounter any bugs except what Lydon said about the gates in borderlands.

I don't know how you can go back to wow, after playing this but I guess your opinion is your opinion at the end of the day. My opinion is that in no universe is wow better than Guild Wars. I played wow for 5 years, and it was great but it died for me when cataclysm released. I had a lot of fun this weekend, questing was interesting, fun and rewarding and wvw was mind blowing! It's the type of mmo I've been waiting for, because it's not just another clone of wow, like swtor and rift for instance. It's unique and I love that there is no holy trinity. They said there wouldn't be any grinding but there is, but unlike other mmo's it's very interesting and every quest is different. You really feel part of the world and involved, I loved that. Over all, Guild Wars has a couple of flaws, but I mean it is still in beta and it was so minor it didn't distract me from having the time of my life. My 2c of the game :)

Can't wait for release!!! So excited! Wag Vir Ons is the best guild ever... Just saying :D

So this game has been confused, maybe I wasn't in the right mind set or focused but I went through all the races till about lvl 5ish (quite low so my exp is based here) and tried all the classes except necro (never been a fan of floating squids) I found the Asura quite fun and refreshing, the Sylvari didnt really do much for me (maybe the look and feel), Humans had the general 'fable' feel, tried the noble route and the innkeeper route and I liked the story style to it, the Charr, I never really got into their animation style and they moved a bit too slow for 4 legged runners. The Norn was quite funky, with their viking vibe, even made a Mr T character.

As for classes, Elementalist was cool, had some epic destruction from the sky, just the Air (lightning) side was lacking punch for me and the water one was more ice. The warrior was nice as you can literally just smack things and laugh but I found bosses tend to one shot me as I couldn't see when they were gonna hit. Overall I played but felt like I've done this before in another game somewhere, sure there lots of cool events which is fun and the underwater stuff is refreshing but in the end I felt like I've played this game before. Maybe the fantasy genre has killed me a bit, just know its not wow or rift, which is great. Yet all in all it seems like a great game, art style, combat, levelling system and mmo elements. Just it didnt grab me, didnt want me to be curious like other games have done, no waking up and diving into the game trying to savour every last drop. It just felt okay. Anyway this is all my opinion and im sure others will disagree with me, but this is the exp I got.

Its the same as Battlefield 3, beta was bugy as a beta is and people raged. Yet a million+ active players play.

Just saying dont judge a game by the beta when the beta build is a few months old

To be short about the BWE:

GW2 really looks good.

That was my first thought when I played it and I'm specifically speaking about the UI. Clean and effective imho. I won't however be dropping TSW for GW2. I'm enjoying the long overdue break from elves and orcs (aka fantasy). This doesn't make GW2 kak, no it is a lot better than I expected and I stand corrected on prior conceptions. GW2 will definitely be the route I'm going when I return.

After RIFT... GW2 is taking the MMO further away from boring that WOW has become into a much needed directions. Yes WOW was good, but only vanilla imho. At least I played some of the "father MMOs" before WOW arrived ;)

Now to see how GW2 fares on launch after the final BWE and compare that to RIFT, TOR and TSW. Not worth mentioning diablo3 since it is not a mmo, but blizzard had the worst launch ever. I can't see that GW2 will have fail launch, I'm expecting a good one. Still be interesting to see how they handle opening day.

The game ran quite fine on mostly Medium settings. Just... When there were many players, and lots of activity happening around me, I got some good framerate drops, but definitely not unplayably bad.

I was very confused at first... Didn't know where to go or what to do until I consulted my map, needless to say... Things made a lot more sense then :p

Played the first part of the game with all Races and Professions, to get a feeling of what I'm going to play as the time 'round.

I really enjoyed the Beta, and hope I get this game within this year still :(

I can't see how people are fooling themselves. Just the beta was insanely awesome for me. And given that this was a beta - frankly, I've seen games launch with many, many more bugs than I encountered during the weekend. I submitted 2 bug reports, and that was it for me. I think the one was fixed by Saturday after the one patch, because I didn't see it happen again.

Honestly, this game won't be for everyone - that goes without saying. But for myself, this will replace Aion, which I've been playing non-stop for 3 years, and will possibly mean a lot less time in STO as well. It's a pity you don't enjoy it, but that's the way the cookie crumbles :)

I enjoyed the game SO much.

The game felt very polished and ready for release :D

I am a little dissapointed with the low level content, as it really doesnt "shout" how awesome the game becomes when you hit level20 and up, but its a smooth introduction at least.

Just thought i would say, to all those that didnt make it passed lvl15 or 20 (or there about), the events and the mobs become a lot more interesting, and the game pace really picks up :)

A whole month....ag slaai! :p

1 bug and 1 spelling error i found

Was a tad annoying tho the bug, personal story for asura where the one personal story instance the boss would bug out become invulnverable for 10 mins and just stand there not attack (hes supposed to break glass chambers) but didnt :(

Had to go out of the instance and back in.
