Se moer. give me that rep
I would wonder if this could have been less of an issue if they had like 3 day full public beta or at least tried queueing system. Between Dialbo3, AoC and Hellgate I doubt we can see worse
D3 was by far the worst of the bunch this decade, fully agree with you there.
But I doubt that a full public anything would make any amount of difference.
I liken the whole server-stability scenario to a restaurant on its opening night.
So you build and plan this restaurant. It will have this and that on the menu, bar over there, toilet over that way, etc.
When all is said and done, you have 50 tables in your little restaurant.
You start taking bookings for opening night.
At no point does it occur to you when you reach 500000 bookings for the same night, to say "stop", or make plans, or do something?
You just keep booking more and more without making ANY arrangements at all?!
Worst of all, your bookings had to pay in advance...
Public beta won't make much difference, in that a great quantity of orders/purchases/bookings won't participate.
I mean seriously, if I can pull sales figures from right here behind my dinky little desk, wtf is wrong with developers that they are unable to keep track of sales on
their own products?!
Don't plan server-stress on Beta's alone, look at your damn sales figures! It's all right there!
What kind of shitbrick is going to buy a game and NEVER play it?
I do not know the ins-and-outs of server-stress as it pretains to global multiplayer games, and neither is it required for me to do so (I am not the one charging money for such a product, that burden falls on the seller).
It's about time these vendors start waking up...
