Guild Wars 2

Really started to get frustrated with my Mesmer so last night decided stuff that and rolled a new Champ. Going warrior and cooking with armorsmithing. My cooking was on 40 after an hour of running around and then just crafting a couple of things.

Really enjoying the warrior way more than i did with the mesmer at early levels.

Mesmers are tricky at the start to keep alive

Mesmer requires a lot of micro management to stay effective. Learn the mechanics of enemies using an alt and then go back to the mesmer when you have some more experience with enemies and strategies

Jip was thinking the same. Want to max a character with somethin "easier" like the warrior then when im very comfortable with the game and all the mechanics and so on ill go back. My biggest issue was i was doing everything fine but still attracting agro to myself and not the clones.

What are the level requirements on the pvp stuff? Is there?

Key to playing a mes is primarily the use of clones and phantasms, and when to shatter them, also being a caster you can swop weapons (unlike a ele) you can play with either a sword and pistol (nice for close range and groups) or a great sword to debuff and attack from a distance.

WvW scales you to 80

Not sure about PvP though

There are two kinds of PvP, WvWvW and 'regular' battleground type PvP. Afaik both of them scale you to 80, WvWvW lets you use your own gear while battleground PvP gives you a premade.

50 meg update today for anyone on a slow line.

Also note:
WvW you gain XP per a kill, as you would in pve. - All pve gear can be used in WvW

PvP you gain fame per a kill, skirmish, takedown, capture etc, you start at 1 and work your way up. - Only pvp gear can ge used in PvP

PCGamer gives Guild Wars 2, 94/100.

Some good news:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_status_updates
Tonight's Update 7 September 2012
We'll fix the issue with parties not staying together as they travel into dungeons.
We'll fix issues with the storyline steps "A Light in the Darkness," "Estate of Decay," "Explosive Intellect," "Rumors of Trouble," "The Lost Chieftain's Return," and "Tribunes in Effigy."
We'll add an option to stop queueing for your home world, for players who want to remain on an overflow server indefinitely without being asked.
Yay, now I might actually go try and do the 60 and 70 dungeon story mode before maxing out.
