Guild Wars 2

Trying my best to get the last of the Lion's Arch achievements. That darn Triple Play achievement is holding me up

Triple Play is really easy to get though ... just defend each of the rally points once during the 40 minutes in LA.

The only one I'm still hung on (I've got 15/15 achieves though, so it's just OCD at this point) is the final escort event - Lawson Marriner. He only spawns once during a cycle, and he dies in about 10 seconds flat, regardless of how many of us try to defend him.

I think most people have kinda given up and are just rescuing citizens now.

The problem is getting people to successfully defend them to begin with >.< I keep getting into overflow and overflow usually fails the entire event.

As example, protect the dollys fails because everyone stops to farm the mob at the trading post, and when they finished, so is the event .... :(

If you want to avoid getting into an underpopulated overflow, the best thing would be to enter LA at the start of a cycle.

Basically, be at either of the entrances at the top of the hour (say 5:00, for example). Entrance event starts at 5 minutes past the hour, and you should be one of the first in - unless you somehow end up on an underpopulated overflow in any of the entrance maps. But even if you don't end up on the main AG map, you should almost definitely be in a fairly well populated overflow. And you will have 40 - 45 minutes in the map (until 50 mins past the hour) to get the defences done.

The problem is that most people have probably finished their achievements by now, so in any of the maps I've been in the focus has been on getting as many citizens saved as possible - it's all about the loot now.

It is about loot now, if I don't get it this afternoon, going to abandon it.

Need to farm 100 odd gold for a back piece for my Warrior, before Season 2 starts on 28th March,

That's just the thing...I wait outside the portal to LA as soon as the entrance event begins at 5 past the hour, rushing through as soon as the portal opens and I still fall into the overflow. I think I may be having bad luck with picking my entrance events, considering you portal only opens up when your entrance event is done, but the other portals at the other entrance events may have opened up sooner because people finished the entrance events quicker.

Talking of which, are amulet and back piece paired one defensive and one offensive infusion slot or are they independant?

For example rings and asseories are each paired I.e. you cannot equip two rings or asseories with both having offensive infusion slots.

I would think no because its two different types of equipment.

Also, doesn't that restriction apply to having the same two items in the slots, i.e. not two of the same rings rather than the infusions?

I am not absolutely certain, why I ask, I don't think amulets and back pieces are paired like rings and accessories. If you equip identical rings, both will have same infusion type slot.

If I remember correctly, the error message says cannot equip same/like infusion slots ...

Might be, will do some research and post again later today:D

It appears that back pieces and amulets are not linked. Best I could find was comments in a forum thread.
