You cannot go wrong with the M50s. What price can you get them for? Those are seriously fantastic monitoring headphones.

Also, it's not a huge compromise for music/movies. If you have a soundcard which allows multiple profiles, just set up another profile with adjusted equaliser settings for music/movies.

You can get a quote from them and under type of business you can mark it as studio. This should let you purchase through them without any issues unless they only do bulk orders.

I would try anything locally first before going through someone like Amazon or anything international as RMAs and replacements can take you weeks.

Some advice in the R1000 range will be appreciated. I think I saw in another thread someone mentions the Sennheiser HD 215... THey still the best option? It could also be a gaming headset but it seems you sacrifice a lot when going for a headset/mic combo.

You should have gone for the logitech ones with built-in mic never had problems with it.

Which ones? Logitech makes more than 1 pair or is their a pair called the Logitech by Logitech that I have never heard off?
 
I've used most of these "top" branded ones, and ones that stood out was the Steelseries Siberia set for me. Lately I could just not justify spending so much on stuff anymore, and I've been using a pair of Genius sets (HS-510X) that goes for like R170 odd. It has decent stereo sound, but the mic works about the best of all the sets I have used. Loud and clear. Genius has certainly upped their quality on their products. But for some it will always be the "PEP" of computer brands I guess.

Found some very nice Logitech headphones at the CNA on special for R150 cant beleive how nice they make music sound compared to my old headphones can hear every instrument including the bass and drums also has a 3 year warranty.

No idea, but they adequate for my gaming, music and skype and for R150 theres nothing really to lose.

I like the noise canceling mic, adjustable volume and soft ear pads which never break or come off.

DuckKnuckle have you listened to the HD 380 Pro's?

EDIT: Also I'm pretty decided on the 518s, but I just read about the 558s and they also seems nice but I don't know if they are worth the extra. Also I can't seem to find them in SA.

Yeah I used to mess with them at my old job.

From what I remember, the soundstage was large for closed-back headphones and the lows had a warmth to them. They performed well against .wav and .flac files and using .mp3s with a low bitrate were very noticeable in terms of poor quality. Again, the comfort was awesome as Sennheisers always are.

You're going to love the 518s! And yeah, you're going to need to order the 558s from someone like Amazon if you want them, but the 518s will be perfect for what you need.
